I just used the best buy gift card sent via email and they say that it is for 10 dollars. Well, I just used it and it is actually 30 dollars. So if you received one, hurry up and use it before they find out!

This is the second time they have messed up in two days. The first one they sent was for an expired one. Then the next day (today) they sent another one out saying that they messed up and sent an expired one on accident.

Good luck!

What gift card are you talking about? Is it something they sent to all BB members? If so, I don't see it in my inbox. Please elaborate. Thanks.

I'm not sure what types of members get them or if it is in certain regions or what. I was try to let people know, if they got the email, to check.

Thanks for the heads up! I only got a $20 credit when I used mine, but still better than $10. I was needing to buy a game as a gift so this was perfect timing.

That's is freakin awesome! It is so funny that they screwed up in our favor! I wonder if anybody has gotten a big one?

Sounds like they credited you an extra $20 because they screwed up by sending an expired card. A good will gesture, basically. Not all that uncommon for them to do.

No idea what to make of the vague subsequent post from the theraven00.

Mourning the disappearing usage of the -ly suffix. Words being cut-off before they've had a chance to fully form, left incomplete, with their shoelaces untied and their zippers undone. If I quote your post (or post in your thread) without comment, please check your zipper.

I've never seen BB send out free $10 gift cards to members which is why I asked the question earlier, I did not get a clear response. So I guess I'll ask you. Are these guys talking about a gift card that they BOUGHT but got double or triple the value that they had paid for (possibly as you say as a goodwill gesture on BB's part for screwing up with expiry dates or whatever)? The OP made it sound like BB has been sending out free gift cards worth $10 to people in different regions.

Can't say for sure but sounds like a promo where they are sending out $10 gift card codes to either some or all members who are signed up for their membership program, whatever it's called. I forget the name. It's changed a few times over the years or now their are multiple tiers of membership.

It was a free gift card the sent me in my email. That was it. It did not say anything about membership or what type, but I am pretty sure it has something to do with it.

The first email they sent me was around monday but it was expired when they sent it, so I deleted it. The very next day they sent out another gift card and they said "oops, looks like we w\sent out the wrong gift card. Here is the a valid gift card." Not is those words but, something close to that.

The gift card was suppose to be for $10, but when I used it, it showed a $30 credit towards my purchase. I bought a 4tb hard drive for my server. The hard drive was already $20 dollars off, plus my $30 dollar credit, and $50 dollar reward zone points. All together I saved $100 dollars and got free two day delivery. I do not know how that is possible, but it worked.

Thanks for the clarification. If you spent more than $1500 last year at BB, you might have one of their elite memberships which might explain why not everybody got that gift card.

It's possible it is for the Elite members, which I happen to be one. I don't think I've ever spent enough to qualify for the Elite membership, but for some reason they've upgraded me to that status the last couple years (which is nice since it gives you free 2-day shipping and early access to Black Friday deals, etc.). Anyway, Pain Infliction is correct, we received an e-mail earlier this week with a $10 promo certificate which has to be used by 12/24 but the expiration date on it was something like 10/31. We then received a separate e-mail which admitted the mistake in the expiration, but the new certificate was still only supposed to be valid for $10 off but somehow it was worth more (Pain received a $30 credit while I received a $20 credit).
