I purchased them a few weeks ago and they have the best bass of any headphones I ever used. BTW they were $299 when they came out a year ago.

Just picked up one!

Thanks for sharing.

Auditioned it once at Best Buy and fell in love with it but balked at its MSRP of $299.00

you win some you lose some...This headphone pales to my Sennheiser HD-595, and I don't like it as much as the Sony V700DJ at first listen - but that might change with some time. I think my beloved V700DJ and MDRX10 are similar.

Certainly Simon Cowel has not made the best headphones ever. He has successfully marketed and packaged a decent set of cans and for the price of $80 - I have no compliants - but at $300 people got ripped off hard!

It sure is a nice presentation - the packaging rivals my Sennheiser HD-600 set I used to have. It comes with a detachable cord with a mic and a cord without? how cool is that? The box is fancy and the headphones look super expensive. Cosmetically these are a super sexy looking piece. Soundwise they are just decent to good. I think a pair of Koss portapros for $25 bucks on amazon (MSRP = $50) have better sound when I compared back and forth. Of course the Koss are fabled for their performance at price point - and they look like something straight out of the 1980s, and perhaps should only be worn with a jumpsuit.
