If I didnt already have a Onkyo 5508.....which is a sonic twin to this unit...I would consider this unit at this price.
The Onkyo PR
-SC5509 is the Integra DHC-80.3's equivalent.
The other part is will the new Atmos enabled unit be able to decode the new DTS format as well?
will the 7703 have XT32?
though they slotted the lower end Marantz SSP with Multi EQ XT
The 7702 has Audyssey MultEQ XT32, so the 7703 will surely have as well
I know the 8802 will have those features...but street price will have to be close (or at) $3K for that
Street price on the 8801 is anywhere from $2100-2300
Street price for the 7702: approx $1,700*
- For the 8802: approx $ 3,400*
* @ the beginning.
I would still have some fear about reliability of the Onkyo/Integra products....though it seems they are steeping up to the plate...finally
The Onkyo 5509 (and 5510?) don't have Dolby Atmos, neither the Integra DHC-80.3
And all the new Onkyo/Integra SSPs (5511? and DHC80.6?) have no Audyssey @ all, but the new (inferior) AccuEQ system. ....And they do have Dolby Atmos.
<> The DHC-80.3 is still a solid unit, and good for its owner who is not in the rush to get Dolby Atmos.
...Perhaps for another two years or so.
