This is a great deal. I was wondering when these would be discounted.

Yeah I was waiting for a deal, figured since the new model was announced the price would drop. Mine was delivered today and showed up double boxed.

Their own web site (not Amazon) shows $1250 for an open-box SR7011, and $1399 for a new one.

I have been watching the prices of the SR7011 on Amazon and never saw any unit in any condition for $799 .

Are you sure it was a 7011 and not 6011 ?

I actually saw it on Amazon for $800 through them as well. However, the price changed the next day. I am guessing that they updated the wrong one, but it was definitely the 7011 through Music Direct for $800.

Yeah. He was surprised by the price. He actually ordered it a few days ago and is getting it today.

Maybe wrong price but I'd call them directly

Someone got very lucky, definitely wrong pricing. But I have been watching the SR7011 prices on Amazon every single day, both for used & new condition, and never saw that unit. Amazon is known to do dynamic pricing. They may show different prices for different users, too, or people browsing from different locations. Maybe I need to use a VPN and watch Amazon prices from some remote part of the country ...

Yep, you sure got lucky !
I grabbed an SR7011 floor unit yesterday at Best Buy with full warranty for $1100 + tax, their last one. Full warranty. Not nearly as good a deal as you got, but at least if I run into any issue with it i don't have to ship it back. So far so good.

Some Best Buys/Magnolia Home Theater have marked them low as well...ditto with the Denon X6300
You have to find a store that actually has one in stock though

Yea no doubt, you just never know what amazon is up to so I always keep an eye on some of these hoping to get lucky. 1100 is still better than most have paid so that worked out.

With the Denon X4300H going for $799 at Amazon and elsewhere, why would anyone spend $1399 on the Marantz SR7011, which is mostly identical?

7.1 analog input is a huge reason why for me, so I can still connect my SACD changer with 5.1 analog out.
But I didn't pay $1399 for my SR7011. I bought a floor unit for $1095 at Best Buy last saturday.
Very happy with my decision so far.
