Today's Show:
Last September Apple released the AppleTV 2 and one of the things people complained about was that it was only 720p. We have talked on this program many times that resolution is not the most important specification of a good display or projector. Especially when you talk screen sizes less than 50 inches. There is study after study that says MOST people need to sit six feet away from a 50 inch TV to see the difference between 720p and 1080p. more...

Still doesn't excuse Apple for only selling a device that outputs 720p when most of the already established competition has devices that can output 1080p.

cant believe 720p is still made...if i went out with the main goal of trying to find a 720p tv....id be hard pressed to find more than 3 at any given store...pretty much everyone has adopted 1080p even if all media doesnt come in 1080p.....so im shocked that anyone even bothers to make a new tv with 720p...especially apple. I mean they are ALL about pointing out their super high res retna display in their iphone....how'd they drop the ball on a TV?

Hey, Apple have done this sort of thing before. Once the sales of Apple 2 TV have spiked, they announce the *new* Apple 3 - now with 1080p!
