Movie and TV industry consultant Ron Williams reports on the technical conference held last week by the Hollywood Post Alliance, where topics included high frame rate movies such as The Hobbit, 4K/UHD (including television production, content delivery, and transport using HDMI and DisplayPort), 8K coverage of the London Olympics, object-oriented sound systems such as Dolby Atmos, answers to chat-room questions, and more.

Scott all I can say is Wow about the first half of this podcast. I am shocked by the HPA meeting results Ron was talking about. Absolutley shocked!!eek.gif
These kids today sicken me to put it bluntly. Talkin bout film students who think its ok to text during movies or that watching a movie on an ipad at 10 frames per second is good enough quality!?! These are film students!?!? I am disgusted. Film students not caring about picture quality or audio quality for that matter would be like a cook that only uses microwaves and without a care in the world for the way it tastes or presented. These youngsters grew up with all this technology and they are spoiled by it. They cant appreciate todays tech becuase they grew up having everything at there fingertips and are spoiled by it. Color me green for sick Blaahhh! Scott you and Greg where great tho keep up the awesome work.

The 3D backlash is silly. When Avatar 2 comes out, it's going to be "3D is back!".
