Today's Show:
...or is it? Ask anyone who knows something about home theater what the highest quality audio and video available to mere mortals today is and they will tell you Blu-ray. Blu-ray video is stunning and the audio is simply amazing, but we don’t have to tell you that. So does Blu-ray have a future? Maybe not. We'll give some reasons why Blu-ray may not be around for too much longer.

We also discuss:
  • U.S. court won't rehear Aereo appeal
  • Why are early adopters are generally not happy with their smart TV
  • Intel’s upcoming TV service is going to be called OnCue
  • Google reportedly pitching streaming online TV service to multiple media companies
  • Summer Vacation Tech and Automation Checklist
  • Will 'Pacific Rim's' SuperTicket Prop Up Home Entertainment?
  • Listener review: Rythmik Subwoofers
  • Paramount picks DTS-HD for UltraViolet download audio format
  • Dish opens Hopper DVR to handful of third-party mobile app developers

and a lot more...

I would be very sad to see Blu ray go. Wish it could have been Justin Bieber instead.

Once an online (and viable) alternative to better-than-BD (hence cheaper) is available for masses it will vanish, no question.

Not as long as ISPs insist on data caps. With 4K around the corner I'd hit my cap in no time. And I'm not paying for extra bandwidth to stream.
