Ioan Allen, Senior VP at Dolby Labs, talks about how cinema has changed since he joined the company in 1969, how Dolby's professional technologies find their way into consumer applications (such as Dolby A professional noise reduction morphing into Dolby B and C for cassettes and Dolby Stereo for commercial cinemas transforming into Dolby Surround for home VHS tapes), the concept of symmetrical encoding and decoding, the transition from film to digital cinema, a detailed description of Dolby Atmos, what's wrong with home theater, the issue of high volume levels in commercial cinema, answers to chat-room questions, and more.

You keep outdoing yourself Scott wink.gif i really like the points made on the movie experience instead of its sound being too loud and that distortion plays a more defining role in that overall experience. This also speaks well to those who have taken the time and have gathered the know how to get it done right. as its all about the love of "Cinema" in the end smile.gif

Yes, there is. I just posted it; an interview with Andrew Jones. I normally post it on Tuesdays because I have to wait for it to appear on YouTube.
