At 100% there is far to much blue on screen as well, but I'm willing to discount 10% and 100% from the range. Note that on my old 350U CUT and DRV both worked great, sad to see things go from good to worse with time.

Are you talking about being unable to change the CUT's. We've since resolved the issue with the latest firmware upgrade. We can now change the CUT's and they stay where we set them. There are several new firmware upgrades for many Toshiba models. I presume they take care of the CUT's.
You can find the firmwares here:

BTW, are you sure that's the model you have or is it a typo? Didn't find the Toshiba R46RV645 anywhere.

Well I'll be...

I was the person who started this calibration thread. But I've been gone for nearly a year! I see there is a firmware upgrade for the XF550U!

OK...first question before I swing the set out of my cabinet...Is the SD card slot sometimes absent? I ask because my memory of what was behind the service plate was that there was no connector present.

Secondly...is there a specific SD memory size that does or does not work?

I did my 42rv530, it's slot is on the side.

I think and SD card will work (mine was 1gb), but I don't think SDHC cards will.

What you should find behind the plate is a slot into which to insert the SD card, but be careful not to force when inserting it as you may risk to crack the connector's guide. It helps to shine a flashlight onto the vertical vents present above the slot, you should be able to see the sd card slide into the guides of the connector until it reaches the metal contacts. Do not push any further once in place because, in my experience, the plastic guides are quite fragile and crack easily. Luckily, I was able to upgrade the firmware even though I cracked the connector's guides. I used a small card, 256Mb.

I upgraded my 40XF550U successfully to the October '08 firmware. I just followed the procedure as described in the link mentioned above. I used a 1 GB SD card that had been used for MP3 music and was erased before loading with the unzipped firmware

Enjoy!

LeRoyK,
In Jam2001's spreadsheet here, it lists your old settings with old firmware, and your new settings with new firmware. Your drive values have changed significantly with no indication of (Orig)/New per the other user's settings listed. Are these two differents TV's in which their drive settings were left alone, but were totally different? I assume these are all custom values, but I'd be very curious to have your factory drive settings for direct comparison.

Thanks Jam2001 for the spreadsheet. Nice to see the numbers across the page for compare and contrast.

Thanks! Received a new Samsung over Christmas from a raffle at work, so our Toshiba got moved to the bedroom. I decided to lookup user preferred settings for the Toshiba and your settings made our set look simply amazing. Thanks again.
