I've had this kind of thing happen to me with CP, and a reinstall fixed the problem.

Tom, do you understand the root cause of this? Well-written software does not spontaneously (and subtly!) go "bad" and require reinstallation.

It has something to do with .Net. This only occurs for some people when new versions are released. Repairing .Net and reinstalling fixes the problem. I can't reproduce the problem here, so I can't be any more specific. Let me recommend some free software that might help with this.
