It works on your desktop PC, is that correct?

But it doesn't work on your laptop, is that correct?

Are both desktop and laptop running the same version 7 of Windows?

Try starting the program without any USB devices connected to your laptop and see if it comes up working in demo mode.

Free Firmware update is available for the AccuPel DVG-5000 Owners (New Version 09/01/2012)

See the Support tab below for information about a new firmware update.
http://www.chromapure.com/products_accupel.asp

The latest firmware (09-01-2012) includes two new features.

• First, the levels of the surrounds in window test patterns are now user-defined. By default, windows are black, but the user can now define them for any level desired.

• Second, users can now apply a single color (RGBCYM) to any of the gray test patterns in the AccuPel, effectively creating hundreds of new test patterns.

New Firmware available for the AccuPel DVG-5000

This firmware adds support for user-defined window sizes and checkerboard test patterns.

See the Support tab on the AccuPel page for details.

This firmware is a free download for all AccuPel DVG-5000 users. Support for the new feature will be available soon in ChromaPure.

Tom, do you ever plan to add support for 4K resolutions to DVG-5000?

Given the processing power of an existing chassis for a VP or signal generator plus output bandwidth limitations, I would suspect any existing 2K video processor or signal generator regardless of the manufacturer could not be upgraded to 4K but would require a new chassis.

We cannot simply upgrade the DVG-5000 to support 4K. That requires new hardware. So if we ever do this, then it will be a successor to the DVG-5000.

This sounds like a plant post, but it isn't. If AccuPel comes out with a 4K signal generator some day, do you expect that there might be a trade in program for those owning the existing 2K generators?

This is way too speculative and too far in the future to even consider right now. I will consider this if and when we ever release such a product.

That sounds like a yes. smile.gif Obviously, for people buying right now up to release if any of a 4K product they might seek some asurance that they will not be harmed by not waiting.

No one said it wouldn't. But it is fps limited currently. It will do 24 and 30, but if I remember correctly the bandwidth of the existing HDMI chips is not wide enough to handle more. The processing power of the generator is not sufficient to generate a 4K pattern. One needs a much more powerful chip.
