Hi all. If you are interested in attending a hands-on professional video calibration course in your local area (enthusiasts and commercial customers are both welcome) we have a large number of them coming up. Please see below for details and contact me to register. Thanks!!

Justin R.

The ISF-C two-day course covers the science of light and color and how the human eye reacts to the images it sees. Keys to quality image reproduction are covered in depth and everything comes together on day 2 with hands-on labs that allow each student to properly set up and calibrate a display or projector.

  • Irvine CA December 8th 2011 - December 9th, 2011
  • San Francisco, CA March 14th - March 15th, 2012

Covers Global Standards, 3D mathematical imaging models, front panel controls, two point color balance, an introduction to color management as well as basic video processing, aspect ratios, the 3x3 component/RGB Matrix, HD and SD decoding, and a step by step calibration process. We also focus on design as well as calibration of front projection with multiple screen technologies and deploying the correct colorimeter for specific applications.
Also provides a hands on approach to ISF software guided solutions for advanced calibration, plus system parameters including: EEDID /HDMI verification, 3D color management, multipoint color balance, optimizing multiple processing engines, system building diagnosis, Gamma/EOTF, advanced Gamut matching/distortion/manipulation, and other recent innovations.

  • Las Vegas, NV January 12th - January 14th, 2012
  • Honolulu, HI February 29th - March 2, 2012

Learn how the eye interprets and decodes colors and light and how this information is translated into something a machine can understand and then reproduce. Discuss the processes used to maintain image fidelity to properly match the artists' intent using test tools to calibrate devices like cameras, scanners, displays and projectors. We then profile each device to maintain and manage the way each device handles and reproduces the image or frame. We employ both lecture and hands-on labs.
