Thanks for the link; I've actually seen it before. The improvements are supposed to be very small, but the differences I noticed seem to be very significant below 40IRE.
Seems to me the best approach is to always use the high resolution mode. It doesn't seem to have adverse effects on the measuring speed.

I've thought of another feature that could be added, after messing around with dispcalgui I noticed it can measure display response time, can this be used to measure input lag? Could a lag test be implemented in HCFR? I think you could use a colorimeter in the same way the leo bodnar lag tester works.

@Zoid a simple thing.
If i go to measure black and till 40 ire i think because my tv is backlit with microdimming the small numbers in the bottom center that say 0:0:0 raise the luminance because even in off the microdimming its still working a bit .... can you put the numbers total left or right?
If i use madtpg instead of internal i am ok.

Here is an example pdf report, need suggestions for 5th plot. Not finished with plot scaling or visibility yet and the summary box will eventually include contrast ratio, dE values, etc.

What is the average/standard deviation of 10 measurements @20% stimulus for x,y, and dE2000?

I think you would need a very fast probe (faster than the lag time) to do this, so it would be limited to the Klein or CR-100 (currently not supported).

I could add a switch to turn the triplet display off, would that do?

Link to "BuyZoydABeer.org"?

Did you really need to quote that entire post in your reply?

The results are fairly consistent from run to run, but very different between the two modes:

Std / Hi-Res
x: 0.3132 / 0.3039
y: 0.3174 / 0.3198
Y: 1.914 / 1.820
%Red: 110 / 93

That's a dE2000 difference of 2.2, still marginal but might be worth calibrating to both modes and seeing if you notice any visual improvement when using the higher sampling mode.
