75 Saturation - Luminance Sweep (R100%,R75%,R50%,R25% etc....)
50 Saturation - Luminance Sweep (R100%,R75%,R50%,R25% etc....)

Any other patterns needed?

when all pattern is correct and done, I will start working on the 1% APL version

I agree, the 50/50 magenta pattern is ok. I checked the new patterns against AVSHD and all are very close in xy and Y, nice job. I think the labeling of the new ones should be changed to something like:

100% luminance - 100% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep

As far as additional patterns, now that I know my display has a kink at 50/50 magenta I'd like to have the Primaries/Secondaries at that location. So maybe add 50L/50S, 75L/50S, 100L/50S

Here are the target xyY for anyone wanting to calibrate to the 75% locations.

100% Luminance, 75% Saturation
Targets x y Y [%]
R 0.557 0.330 21.5
G 0.303 0.533 71.8
B 0.191 0.127 7.2
Y 0.393 0.462 92.1
C 0.247 0.329 79.7
M 0.319 0.197 28.1

75% Luminance, 75% Saturation
Targets x y Y [%]
R 0.558 0.330 11.3
G 0.303 0.531 37.3
B 0.191 0.128 3.9
Y 0.394 0.463 49.4
C 0.247 0.329 41.4
M 0.319 0.200 15.2

Good to hear you agree that 50/50 is good - unfortunately not so good for your TV

is the sequence as it is good for HCFR? Is the white needed at the end (for 50, 75 &100% luminance - Saturation Sweep)?

I will be adding a white in front of the 50, 75 &100% luminance - Saturation Sweep, as this is needed for ChromaPure

also I will add the requested sweeps

I have compiled a quick list of chapters:

50% luminance - Saturation Sweep 000000
75% luminance - Saturation Sweep 000001
100% luminance - Saturation Sweep 000002
100% luminance - 100% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep 000003
100% luminance - 75% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep 000004
100% luminance - 50% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep
75% luminance - 100% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep 000005
75% luminance - 75% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep 000006
75% luminance - 50% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep
50% luminance - 100% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep
50% luminance - 75% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep
50% luminance - 50% Saturation: Primaries/Secondaries Sweep
25% Saturation - luminance Sweep
50% Saturation - luminance Sweep
75% Saturation - luminance Sweep
100% Saturation - luminance Sweep

any comments? (please ignore the numbers at the end that is purely for encoding purposes)

sequences are good for HCFR, you drop the final white and add to the front and HCFR users will just skip the first pattern. Chapter layout looks good.

Where 25% luminance - Saturation Sweep?
100% luminance - 25% Saturation?
75% luminance - 25% Saturation?
50% luminance - 25% Saturation?

not sure a 25% Luminance sweep is necessary (Very Hard to measure accurately - especially at 50&25% saturation). However if you would like it on I will add them

Then they had the full picture of the internal color space.

Once because it will be possible to buy himself JETI-1211 or Basic Discuss or Hubble.

Attached is the latest beta version of what I think I will call Gamut Calibration Disk "GCD"

I have also included 2 skin pattern that I use to set the "Flesh Tone" control on my TV.

as usual please comment on anything

You can find the 25% luminance and 25% saturation patterns under the luminance and saturation sweeps, I have not added them as primary/secondary sweeps, as this could encourage you to use them to calibrate to.

To measure how the display preform with 25% luminance use the 25% luminance sweep you will find 25% luminance for all saturation levels

I have updated the first post with latest link and a better description.

if any comments please let me know.

Tom,

It might be worth letting a bit more testing go by, so I dont have to bother you with uploading a new file all the time, however it would be much appreciated if you would host it for me when tested a bit more

Regards

Visca

I'll do some in-depth testing with the corrected version.

I haven't gotten a tutorial written yet but here are the target values for the patterns calculated for display gamma of 2.22, 2.3, and 2.4

i gotta give a quick shot out to the people that helped contribute to this....well done!

all this needs is a 10pt and 21pt grayscale in the next version and i would probably use this over the AVS disc.

again GREAT JOB!!

I am racking my brain trying to figure out what this is for. The only data we need is
  • level of luminance
  • chromaticity coordinate
  • calculated dE
The correct level of luminance is determined by a % of reference white, which is a known value for all colors. This is what changes, not the luminance of the white reference. The chromaticity coordinates for these various examples of 0% white white are all the same. Finally, for dE calculations these 0% patterns aren't used at all.

So, just what are these for?

Just to make HCFR happy since it calls for this pattern in the sequence and then plots that point in three different graphs. I think it would be too confusing to users to drop it even though it contains no additional information.

I think to make it a complete disk, brightness, contrast & sharpness patterns would also be required, I don't really see this as an replacement to the avs-disk, more like a supplement

good point! What i do like about yours is that your patterns seem to be about 10% window size. this is perfect for plasma. The AVS disc patterns are larger and I dont prefer them for plasma. This is just my opinion though.....
