Hello gentlemen,

I am looking for suggestions to show off good black and white after a proper greyscale/gamma calibration. What are your favorite b&w movies, or scenes from movies? I used to demo the opening scene from Van Helsing, but I only have it on HDDVD. Thanks in advance!

Sin City? It's got a bit of color thrown in occasionally.

I'll second Casablanca, there is a newly mastered release out that is simply stunning. Use the "of all the gin joints" scene to check dynamic range. Birdman of Alcatraz also has some high dr scenes.

Thanks guys! Im such a sucker for b&w photos, so this should be fun. Im just so used to using color (like Speedracer/Avatar) to show off a good calibration, that it will be nice to have something new in my collection!
