Klein Instruments Releases Monitor Calibrator K10-A

(Portland, OR) - April 30, 2012 - Portland-based colorimeter manufacture Klein Instruments, announces new K10-A Colorimeter.

The K10-A is designed for broadcast, production, and post-production professionals who need to calibrate studio and professional monitors.

The new probe is highly sensitive and has 3x the low light sensitivity of our current already sensitive K-10, so it is quicker for measuring correct color at dim light.

Several calibration programs connect to existing K-10: TV Logic, Marshall Display Calibration, CineSpace, CalMan, Plura and LightSpace.

President Luhr Jensen says the K10A gives you a higher degree of performance for calibration.

The K10-A has accurate CIE XYZ filters, and each one is individually calibrated on eight display types in the Klein lab to bump xyY even closer to match spectroradiometer readings on each display.

Several technological advances lead Klein to claim that the K10A provides more extreme accuracy.

I think the price is same with K-10, maybe K-10A is the final product name from the previously announced KC33, which is available for order from Light Illusion's Webstore.

Reading three times lower than the K-10 is REALLY low, if that's what 3X means.

So we have a new exceptional colorimeter option at an exceptionally high price point, I can only see this device being practical for professional calibrators that will see a return on their investment (or maybe a production studio, but then they would be more likely to hire an outside Pro calibrator).

Sounds like an amazing unit and it's right in my backyard, wonder if they do courtesy demos.

Yep, the K10-A was called the KC33. The name has been changed to keep it part of the K-10 family.
