Assuming calibration is performed with professional level hardware and software and identical data is sent clean to each display, what differences can be seen between two displays, one calibrated to Rec. 709 and the other to sRGB? They share the same primaries, CCT, and luminance level (at least for the purpose of this discussion), but the gamma curve is different. Is it the clipped data range (white point and black point) and gamma curve of Rec. 709 that differentiates the two, and if so what colorimetric ramifications are there as a result? If not, what discrepancies exist between the two?
