I'm looking for a Windows program that works in Extended Desktop mode, and will put test patterns on Monitor 2 (or specified), but has controls to change them on Monitor 1. Free would be best, but looking for ideas.
I don't want images or PowerPoint since those won't scale to native resolutions properly.
Why does scaling matter? If the pattern is a window with 235 Red, 235 Green, and 235 Blue, it will scale to any resolution and still be 235 235 235. The only POSSIBLE issue would be if you were using it with a plasma display, but even then, the scaling wouldn't likely to be an issue since all current plasmas (as far as I know) are 1920x1080 so there wouldn't BE any scaling for consumer plasma displays if the patterns start out as 1920x1080 in overall size.
