Had this issue a few weeks ago, the meter-profiling did not work. Profiled my EODIS3 against an i1Pro, but then when I check the profile with TED´s workflow the readings of the profiled EODIS3 are all over the place. The whitepoint is somewhere near the wanted target, but RGB are completely wrong. Both meters are 100% OK, when I measure with the EODIS3 with its inbuilt-profiles it works like it should. Only with the added profile it does not work.

TED gave ma a few hints how to correct the issue (deinstall CalMAN, delete some folders and registry-entries), that worked for a few sessions but now I have the same issue again. Deleted every calman-entry on my laptop and reinstalled it again - but it did not work.

How can I completely delete EVERYTHING so that CalMAN thinks that it is installed on a completely new laptop??? The last time I deleted the entries I had to add my license-key after reinstalling CalMAN, but this time I did not have to. So that means CalMAN has an entry somewhere where the license is stored...

Pretty gutted this time, happened while calibration at a "customers" house. Needless to say that I was really pissed off and lost a lot of time. I was lucky that the built in LED-Profile of the EODIS was pretty accurate in comparison with my i1Pro (DeltaE ~0.5), finished the calibration with very good results.
Hi, there is a hidden folder: C:\ProgramData\SpectraCal\CalMAN 5 Home Theater with some subfolders, your license is here: C:\ProgramData\SpectraCal\CalMAN 5 Home Theater\License

I just don't understand why there is so much issue with profiling using Calman?

We have a lot of experienced folks here who have proven evidence that you can get a better profile using software other than Calman so the question is why hasn't Spectracal made the necessary changes after all these years to improve the accuracy of the profiling? Does someone have a patent on the process? Maybe the slight difference in the results doesn't make a difference?

Can anyone from Spectracal or familiar with this topic comment?

In regards to profiling, I forgot to mention, wouldn't it be "more necessary" to profile every panel you work on due to the fact that even if two sets, for example, were the same panel technology, over time, if it's a back lit LCD or a WRGB OLED, I would think that the spectral power distribution would change over time as the panel aged. Especially for OLED, from what I understand, Blue will change the quickest compared to R& G due to the current technology.

I usually do not have any problem using CM's built in profiling to get verified accurate profiles using the method I described.

I really think that what we are seeing here is more an issue of meter, placement and display variability than a problem with a specific software package. There have only been two or three users complaining about this, which hardly makes it a case of "so much issue". Yes, Ted has created a profile verification workflow (thanks, Ted ), but I think this points more to making sure that variability is having minimum impact on the profile in use than it does to an issue within CalMAN.

I have the same problem to get a correct profile with xrite i1d3 and Calman (more detail in post 3454)
I take the patch measurement with JetiLival for Reference Jeti1211L and with Calman for i1d3;if I insert these values (xyY) in Ligthspace program I obtain a correct profile but if I use the Four ColorMatrix app I have more error on red x and green y
I have done these profile test a lot of time and I always had the same problem

Does anyone know how to set the clip point (1100nits) for HDR10 workflow. Just renewed my ultimate license and cannot find any option for the setting the clip point ... whether it's in % or nits. Thx.

I'm trying to use ultimate for HDR10 calibration and have a couple of questions:

1. Meter Profiling: I've notice meter profiling does not include the wht or blk pt reads btwn spectro and color meter. Is there someway to do this? Maybe an option missed? Need this for HDR10.

2. HDR10: Want to create a custom PQ then run dE's off of that PQ with BT.2020. Can CalMAN Ultimate do this?

Thx!

New Calman , BUT, may require renewing licence

http://spectracal.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=6206

For Home Theater version 5.7.2 RC2 is available for download.

CalMAN 2016 R2 does require updated maintenance. The cut off date for the purchase that maintenance or initial license key is October 2015.
There is currently an error in the installer which identifies keys from September 2015 as valid. They will not work.
Keys from between October and December 2015 will not be able to activate themselves automatically on upgrade. Your will need to enter your new License ID and License Password after the upgrade has completed.

You can retrieve your information by going to https://aquaman.portrait.com/custome...thorID=2451871, choose the "I forgot my password" link, and enter your email address. Your information will be automatically sent to you within a few minutes.

If you have any problems with this process, you can either contact customerservice@portrait.com, post here, or send me a PM. I will be monitoring the forums all weekend.
Melissa - SpectraCal Quality Assurance

Be prepared for hoops, hurdles, warnings, etc to install the new licencing system.

NOTE: ONLY `one' licence to `a' computer. (NO more multiples.)

I think I'm already in trouble. I've already downloaded it to my internet computer to take a look around. Does this mean I can't download it to my calibration computer?

Now that you have a Klein K10, Why not use Klein's ChormaSurf.

This is a little concerning as this breaks my chain of in-home calibration. I've always calibrated my PC monitors & then used my laptop to calibrate with. Very disappointed in this move.
