One was that Mobileforge was remapping to full range by default. There's a little checkbox in the Mobileforge tab in Calman that allows you to change that. That didn't directly fix the issue, the chart was still spiking strangely, however, adjust the delay on the Samsung tab in Calman to 1 second really improved the accuracy. It made the grayscale Autocal process quite a bit slower though.

Here's a the grayscale page calibrated to 1886. I didn't manually adjust the brightness so it's still higher than I would normally calibrate to but now I have a working process.

What's Samsung 100117?

Y2k compliant dates, and particularly ISO 8601 format dates, sort much better

Stacey Spears is moving to another job area, not calibration related area, so it's sad because we loose him for calibration community, if it was moving to other company related with calibration...then the news should not be as sad. It's unknown if he will have the same interest to finish his calibration disk now. (I hope the new job will not slow down the plans for S&M3 UHD calibration disk.)

For CalMAN users, it's sad to have different person per year as color scientist, last November (2016) Joel left also (which color scientist also), I believe this fact will slow down the development.

Before 3 years was great for calibration, all where active at AVS and generally to new developments...Joel, Stacey, Zoyd....it was more interesting period.

I'm definitely not as sad I was when I first started reading the news - I thought it was going to be a post announcing a tragedy (ie he had died)! .
Glad it was "only" him leaving.

While it sucks when you use to someone in a certain position, sometimes there just needs to be a change for a company to strive. People vision and direction of a company can be different than what the company as a while wants. So it's not always a bad thing to see someone move on. It could be for the better for him and the company.

I saw to the latest beta notes: ''We've updated our method for calculating 3D LUTs. 3D LUTs will generally give better accuracy performance.''

I use the ISO to do a live update from a virtual drive - a lot faster than a DVD

Of course I burn a DVD for long-term archive.
