So our background levels are not just by luminance but by chromaticity as well.

any chance for a saturation levels editor (similar to the levels editor) for custom reports ?

Ted's Disk is by far the most complete disk for any calman user.

+1 for adding Ted's Disk it to that list.

+1 for TEDs disc.

It's the most outstanding and up-to-date disc on the market. No other features ALL pattern for calibration and verification. It a MUST for Spectracal to support the disc. Please...

Another thumbs up for support of Ted's disc. Using your actual Blu-Ray player as pattern generator makes a lot of sense to me

Yes after we have CalMAN 5.3 wrapped up.

Not to let my plea for help get lost in all the well deserved accolades for TED:

I'm having a real hair-pulling session with this new version. All other version upgrades have just installed and worked. This one still operates my Mini 3D's Display Control. I can read the RGB tables in individual CMS', for example.

But it will not produce correct colors through the Source Settings. Colors are way, way off and I cannot get 100% screens. I have cycled the power on the Mini 3D, re-booted the laptop, re-started CalMAN many times and disconnected/re-connected many times. Why would the serial link work like a charm for Display Control and fail so completely for Source Settings?

Help... please... hours of projector bulb-burning for nothing!

TED s disc is now only one in my collection at handy position, because is best for CalMAN. I do not have pattern generator.

+1 for CalMAN + Ted calibrations disc.

I'm using Ted's LightSpace CMS Calibration Disk and it should be fantastic if the next release of Calman support it

I'm using also lumagen as pattern generator and I have discovered that with my tv panasonic vx300 if between pattern I display a black screen for about a seconds the measurement are more stable;it should be fantastic if in Calman there was an  option to display a black screen between pattern

Thank you all for your good words, and Derek for adding it at the support list, this will help users with IR Blasters also, there a lot of work behind that disk to create all these bit-perfect color patches for all CalMAN Chapters, with pattern sequence as CalMAN requests them.

It's still impossible to get Constant APL patterns to work with AccuPel DVG-5000. Why? See below:

By constant APL I understand a set of patterns that has APL constant no matter which one is picked up. So black 0% black should have lighter surrounding, and 100% white should have darker.

This is not what Calman does, so these are not Constant APL patterns. These are just windowed patterns on backgrounds, since last four months... Is it that hard to get things working?

It's working here for the Source Pattern Window but not Client 3, which only ever gives me a black background.
Client 3 for windows also needed an update.

You can grab it here: http://color.spectracal.com/downloads

Remember APL has to be higher than your window size.
Why is that?

Well if you have a 20% window, at 100% input you'll have you have 20% APL with a black backround so you can't go any lower than that if you want it to be constant.

So you meant to say "higher" rather than "lower". That makes sense. The silent edit did cause me to do a double-take, though.

Anyone up to the Challenge! Free Lite Version to see if you have the Brain Power! Me, at 68 years of age?

http://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve

Only 68, you've a bit to go yet then, I've already tried it but unfortunately my graphics card is not suitable to run this Lite version.

Downloaded ok but problem occurs during installation, something like a cc card needs to installed or upgraded. (laptop not a tower).

I recently bought Calman 5 Control and downloaded it per their link onto my Windows 8.1 laptop and although it installs fine, it will NOT load. I have uninstalled several times, rolled my laptop back a month (just in case) and still get the same thing. I know folks have this running on Win 8.1, so I don't know what it going on. Right now I have spent $500 on a unusable program.

I am considering transferring the important stuff off this laptop and wiping it back to factory to see if that cures things. Anyone every had problems with Calman and Win8?? I even d/l Calman 4 and it wouldn't load after install either. I have never had an issue installing or running programs before.

Our products are Windows 7 certified and we do all of our development on Windows 8. I know that does not fix your issues. Have you contacted support@ because I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this. In most cases it's device drivers, missing os components etc...

Yes Derek I have been emailing back and forth with Melissa trying to figure it out. I thought I would reach out to the AVS group to see if anyone chimes in with an answer. I don't have my light meter yet, because you just shipped it, but wanted to explore the program early to see the features. Pretty frustrating, for me, so far. I HATE WINDOWS 8.

Is this the only error message that comes up? If so that comes from my startup code. I will have Melissa get you a DLL that should gives us more debug info.
