Well. .simply because calman was on his computer and hcfr on mine. We didn't have the time to do it on both computers.
The reason I ask this, and sorry for continuing the OT is because hcfr when it starts it has the option of selecting the display type(plasma edr) and then a correction matrix. It shouldn't be used together. I was thinking if Calman was using both when profiling maybe this is how I should set HCFR.
CalMAN uses whatever predefined table you have selected when you create the profile. I believe the raw XYZ (no EDR) is an option.

Hi Sotti,

is there no logfile that can tell why Calman keeps crashing when I do auto cal with my EEcolor?

Will my i1 D3 Pro meter work accurately with new laser home projectors like the Epson just announced at IFA? Will there be a new option added to CalMAN to select "laser" as the light source (along with the other choices like Plasma, UHP etc)? Thanks.

Their might be. Go into the logging settings from the main menu and turn all the logging on.

The log file is then located at c:\programdata\spectracal\[CalMAN Product Name]\Logs

I was looking at the power 2.2 gamma curve for my set with a black offset (not sliding power gamma) and I saw while it does little to 5% stim and up, it does seem to target significantly lower gammas for the steps just above black. Does this mean if I was doing a PC autocal with a LUT or an autocal with a LUT box, gamma would be lowered to match the curve seen in the image below exactly?

I noticed an annoying issue in the latest build of CalMAN 5 Home Video. It was present in builds for the last few months or so and I did mention it before on the CalMAN forums. The issue is when using pattern change prompts and the read series button if you want to cancel the reads completely before all readings are taken, you can't. Pressing cancel or escape still takes a reading and then moves to the next step and the cycle repeats.

Another issue which doesn't affect calibration but is worth fixing is in the quick analysis workflow, the color comparator shows target black as reddish and actual black as normal black. It's also been there in the last few months of builds though this is the first time I'm reporting it.

I have seen that purple tinted black target in the color comparator also was wondering what was up with that.

Looks like you're getting a straight out of memory exception.

Are you running virtualized? If so give windows another gig of memory.

CalMan 5 Release Notes and Discussion

No it's running on the host with nothing else running.

edit:

Having just seen your reply on your forum I will reply on here.

Any plans of a 64bit version of calman?
I do have design mode available so will try to delete some charts of the workflow.

Thank you for your reply..

CalMAN 5.4.0 build 1632 Open Beta Released @ 09 September 2014

Release Notes

This is an early open beta of CalMAN 5.4.0 which contains support for the new Lumagen 21xx series and the 17x cube sizes.

In adding this support, we needed to make some changes which could potential affect the older Radiance models. We have not seen evidence of that in our internal testing, but please let us know if anything pops up.

Thanks - gave up looking there figuring they weren't going to use it anymore.
Only issues I had was that I had to disconnect and reconnect my Radiance VQ's

Since I am experiencing the same issue, I copied the first part of your post and re-posted it on the SpectraCal Forum yesterday.

Still no response from them as of today, but if I get one I'll post it here on AVS too.

Calibrated my wife's LG 55LHX tonight with the new Beta 5.4, and using the iScan Duo for VQ.
Still having the same issue I reported quite a few upgrades back. Namely the AutoCal on the CMS. All Primary and Secondary Colours calibrate OK, except Blue. When it gets to Blue, zips it up, then starts stepping down to almost the Zero line (Hue: 37, Saturation: 59 and Luminance: 31), then it starts stepping it back up to end at the 10 Line (Hue: 34, Saturation: 69, Luminance: 26). I then have to use the DDC Control to bring it back down to where it's best settings ended at Hue: 37.01, Saturation: 58.01 and Luminance: 30. Why is it doing this?
Also have the same Blue issue when doing my wife's bedroom LG 42LH90 and iScan Duo.

Curious when we might get support for my JVC X500 projector, looking forward to running an auto calibration.
