I have the DVE HD disc from a few years back, and slowly but surely I am "getting it." I have used it with my relatively new DVD-R and also tried it in a new Blu-Ray player, realizing that there is also a DVE version for Blu-Ray available. While "messing about" in this fashion I asked myself how one goes about calibrating the TV for broadcast transmissiion from a set-top box without resorting to the expensive and complicated tools and methods that are available to the pros. Not sure it can be done in any straightforward way, but I'd be interested to hear suggestions.

No way to do it. I use one input on the projector with all device hooked to a matrix so one gets up for BR , then the OA HD box uses the same setting as it is the same input and looks fine. If you set is using the Digital internal Tuner, then copy the settings used for BR.
