I know this is probably talked about over and over, but I don't have time to search through here like I would like to. Basically my simple question is that when you purchase a blu ray or dvd or even download a torrent they come in different aspect ratios. My projector is a 16:9 projector. When I watch my HD tv stations the whole projector screen is filled, but when I put on a movie with whatever aspect my projector goes to 16:9 or even 4:3 with older dvd's and I get the black bars. Is it possible to make it the whole screen instead of 16:9?

Yes, it's likely a setting in your DVD player.

As sotti said, it's probably a setting in your DVD player but you may end up with a stretched or slightly distorted picture. I've just learned to deal with the letter boxing and/or pillaring. I'd rather have that than picture that's visually off because it's being forced to fit 16:9.

@sotti - how's the weather there? We're headed up to Seattle tomorrow wink.gif

Great! Looking forward to visiting your fair city for the first time. BTW, Seattle was voted the second most desireable city to live in. Fremont Brewery is on the agenda wink.gif
