Hi!

I just bought the Optoma DLP projector and I would like to know if there is a best settings to watch movies. I bought this projector to only watch movies.

Do I need to change the settings such as;

Brightness

Contrast

Sharpness

Color

Tint

Or should I just leave everyone in the DEFAULT setting?

Thanks for any advice!!

Using the picture menu settings values from another projector like yours will not result in a calibrated display, as explained in this "sticky" thread from the top of this section of the forum:

'Sharing display menu settings?'

This link offers additional explanation and documentation: http://forums.hdtvtest.co.uk/index.php?topic=7202.0 .

A good first step will be for you to acquire and learn from one or more of the popular optical disc calibration programs on the market: 'Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics,' 'Disney World Of Wonder,' 'Spears & Munsil HD Benchmark,' or the free, downloadable to DVD program- 'AVS HD709' available here- http://www.avsforum.com/t/948496/avs-hd-709-blu-ray-mp4-calibration .
