There is a bug that slipped through in the latest LightSpace build release.

It was fixed, but reappeared in the release build.

When looking at a profile via the ‘Manage Colour Space’ library, and ‘Display’, the Min/Max Luma values are wrong!

They are correct within the measurement data file (.bcs), but displayed incorrectly.

LightSpace dev. team is fixing that issue now, and a new version will be release very soon.

Thanks for confirming that it works with a simple file rename, using the latest GIMP release.

New release just uploaded.
Fixes the Luma display value issue, and adds Append/Prepend to the 'Maths' functions.
(If you have the LUT manipulation option within your LightSpace version have a play with the Maths tools - they are very, very powerful!)

No, there can be occasions when the RGB bars extend beyond the 'Widget Box'.
It is this that has been fixed.
The previous fix is different, and is valid, not supposed.
However, we are looking at changing the bars operation for compound colours, as some users don't understand the present operation... we're still thinking about that.

I know this is way off topic, but I have always seen Bowie as something of a hero - I grew-up with his career progression, and found each and every change of direction he made awesome!

The world is a little poorer today.

Just last month I picked up a Denon turntable for my daughter and PinUp was one of the albums we both picked out and listened to that day. Those songs brought back some memories, and listening to it on vinyl was fun. I will miss him.

Ran a 14x3 profile for my Lumagen 2041 9x3, used the Lumagen to output 4:4:4 triplets.
Used a Black background, K10-A (off-screen), 6% window using Lightspaces anti ASBL for the LG OLED 65EF9500.
Made 2.2, 2.36 and BT1886 3DLUTs from the profile changing the active CMS memory in the Lumagen.

Also just to test out Lightspace's anti ASBL I used the low light delay for my meter.
Results are very good, there seemed to be NP with ASBL.

I have the HTL version of the program and I'd like to ask a few things. I'm using a Lumagen 2143 and i have i1 Pro and I1 Display 3

1) I have read that when going for a large LUT, that I should check 3D Lut only, and if I go for a small LUT like a 5x5x5, I should choose 1D+3D lut.
Can you explain me why isn't a 1D+3D Lut better than a 3DLUT. I'm talking about a 17x17x17 Lut

2) I understand that regardless of how many points I measure, the 3D lut uploaded to the Radiance will always be 17x17x17 and I cannot choose the cube size to upload. This means that if i take 125 points, Lightspace will use algorithms to create a 17^3 cube. What happens when I measure exactly 4913 points? Also, would it be beneficial to measure 21^3 points, even though the cube would be in the end a 17^3 one?

3) This is more generic question, not related directly with Lightspace. If I use the same projector and the same screen, do I need to profile my Id3 everytime I calibrate, or I can use the saved profiles from a previous session?

Remember that when profiling you are not using a LUT, you are using a set of patches.
The inbuilt patch sequences within LightSpace are based on a cube configuration, to offer the best colour coverage (the best granularity).
With a small cube based set of patches the 'Hybrid 1D+3D Cube' option adds more patches into the grey scale, to help with grey scale balance calibration.
So you can use a 17^3 cube based profile, with the Hybrid mode.

There are also different patch sets that can be downloaded here: http://www.lightillusion.com/downloads.html
Select the 'Optimised Patch Sequences'.

Regardless of the number of patches you actually use for any profile, including the Quick Profile options (excluding Sat Sweeps and Mem Colours, which LUTs cannot be generated from) LightSpace always generates the calibration LUT in a much higher resolution (higher that 17^3, or 21^3...). From this very large LUT size the 'uploaded' or exported LUT is generated at the required size and format.

And yes, using a cube size for profiling that is larger than the final LUT will always be of some benefit - the larger number of measurements allows LightSpace CMS to calculate the needed corrections more accurately.

With a projector I would suggest profiling the i1D3 to a spectro every time.
Projectors do tend to alter their output a fair bit...
