Would like to get him out here to re calibrate my Kuro, but it has proven impossible. Does anyone have a current phone number or email that they can PM me?

Thanks.

Yes, I just spoke to him yesterday... Contact Info and Tour info Here:

BTW, D-Nice just let me know he has a new, lower FEE for his Video Calibration Service effective immediately and going forward.
eek.gifonly $300 - $330 depending on Region (North of New York is $330, most other Regions $300). This is $100-$150 lower than before. eek.gif

He has a Washington DC Tour coming up in February.. dates soon.

If you tried in the past to contact him, send another email today through Thursday

D-Nice's travel costs (flight, hotel, car rental) have been reduced dramatically..

If anyone is with a very large company and travel is involved, you understand why..

Just out of curiosity; I remember D-Nice from waaaay back on this forum, especially in the flat panel/plasma display forums. It is my impression that he was, like most here, an AV enthusiast, though not in the profession. So it's been a bit of a surprise to me to see he has been calibrating people's displays. (Not surprised as in he isn't capable; clearly he is. Simply that I didn't know he actually did this for a living).

Have I remembered incorrectly? Was D-Nice always a professional calibrationist while on the AVSforumm? Or did that come later on - essentially a fellow forum member who learned the calibration ropes and went into business? (I see he has a good rep on this board for calibration, which is nice to see). This probably requires an answer from an old-school forum member here.

The most successful (in regards to the business) Professional Calibrators started as enthusiasts..

D-Nice has a full-time Career not related to this though he does more calibrations monthly than most full time Calibrators.. and also a family...

btw, just because D-Nice hasn't posted recently doesn't mean he has left AVS....

But, AVS has lost many of the "Big Guns" in calibration here contributing their knowledge to other / new enthusiasts interested in this.. I know this because I speak with most of them....

it's not hard to figure out why if you keep up in this section...

Thank you for providing us with the updated info. His new pricing schedule is also a pleasant surprise.

I'd like to know as well. I know many migrated to HDJ. What happened? Did this forum, or AVS in general, lost some form of freedom?

What's HDJ?

The AVS "DIY Screens" section had become a graveyard. Many enthusiasts with great knowledge/experience had left that area because it simply became a marketing playground for a certain self/business individual. No one is allow to speak of differing opinions in that section. I hope this is not the trend across all AVS forums.
