I am on the fence where to buy or not to buy. I have a 70" LED Sharp LC 70LE847U that will be replaced with a 70"  LED Sharp LC 70LE857U on Monday.

Is the Blu ray worth getting to calibrate. I have never calibrated a television but would assume it would make the picture that much more better if I do. It seems like a great beginner calibration tool that will teach me more and more.

any advice will be appreciated.

I have researched and googled for the past week and seems like it is but I need that final push before I buy

thanks

Start with a free disc such as AVS HD 709. I don't know what the Disney dics contains but unless you have a meter you can't do more than the basics anyway and AVS HD 709 is completely fine for that.

Adjusting settings according to personal preference is not calibration.

Epson 5030UB, 100" Carada Criterion with Classic Cinema White, Denon AVR 1713, Energy V-5.1s and a V-5.2C , NHT SuperZeros, Mirage Omni S10, Oppo 103D. Currently boxed up and for sale: Klipsch SW-450, NHT Absolute Center, Energy V-Mini-C

I ended up buying the single disc for $19. So I will give it a try.
