I should add a little more detail to the explanation, the CR-250RH has a larger field of view then the CR-250 w viewing optics...but both will work in contact and off the screen.
The thing you have to keep in mind is how large an area you will be looking at with the CR-250RH vs. CR-250 w viewing optics.
also..the CR250 w viewing optics will be getting a screw on type rubber hood for contact mode.

Hope this helps

Nice...I guess this makes a laser target unnecessary, but nice to have.

Hello.

I have used the CR-100 since five days with Light Space CMS HCC. Below, times with my setup (JVC X35, Radiance 2143, very dark room, screen 3.5mx1.5m), sync performed automatically by Light Space CMS, delays with their value by default (no extra delay, no average low measurement):

4934 points profile : about 60 mns [note: 5h with i1D3 and low average measurement]
141 points quick profile : about 2mn30

I love my CR-100 !

I ran a 81 patch profile on an LCD display with LightSpace CMS.
(21 step grey scale, and 20 step Red, Green and Blue)

CR-100 = 57 seconds

K10-A = 52 seconds

Hello,

CalMAN 5 for Business 5.4.0 has been released.

Changes from RC2

Resolved performance issues with deltaE charts
Added support for the Photo Research AQL
Added support for the CR-250 meter
Improved LUT performance near black
Optimized memory usage loading and unloading workflows
Resolved issue where Post-Action on layouts were not being properly restored on workflow load.

So look like RC1 added the CR-100 and now RC2 added the CR-250.
Hope to be getting in some testing with both these meters and CalMAN 5.4.0

Will let you all know how it goes.

I have used the CR-100 & CR-250...and both are very good.
I got the chance to do some extended testing with the CR-100 and it compared very well with what my Minolta CS-200 was showing.

Just my $.02

Hello.

I have used the CR-100 for several weeks. I have calibrated : Sony vw500 (4K), JVC X35, Epson TW9000 and a TV Sony 1080p (LED) with Light Space CMS HCC by doing display characterization from about +9000 points.

CR-100 works perfectly. It is well built and it is fast. I think it is as fast as klein K10A.

USB-RS232 built-in adapter works perfectly with windows 8.1 (laptop).

JimP,

About 1h50 for 9137 points.

About 20mns for 1496 points.

About 1mn for 84 points.

According to Klein K10A user's feedback, it seems that Klein K10A is slightly faster.

I have a kit with the CR-100 and CR-250 that I will use for AVS TV reviews. The first project involves a re-calibration of my reference F8500 followed by my first review using this gear... a Panasonic AX900.

I am very impressed with the build quality as well as the form factor. Also, today I am headed to Theo Kalomirakis' studio to tweak his SIM2 Lumis. I am not calibrating, just tweaking. But it will be my first field trial of the gear.

No tweaks yet, looks like that'll have to wait until my next visit. We ran out of time last night, Alberto from SIM2 was there and it turned out to be more of a social evening than a technical one. In the end the only thing I did was measure the peak luminance after Alberto performed some tweaks of his own, which was 20 foot-lamberts.

Theo wants even more contrast and brightness out of the rig. We're going to have to take another look at the current projector/screen combo, a SIM2 Lumis paired with a Vutec Soundscreen.

For now, I'm going to start hammering away at the AX900 review. Since Theo is heading to Russia it'll be a couple of weeks before I revisit.

I'm using the built-in CMS controls in both of those TVs. I do not have an external video processor. I'm going to use CalMAN 5 Ultimate when calibrating, I have not settled on the exact workflow.

New Release of CalMAN put out yesterday...big improvements for Colorimetery Research Meters

CalMAN for Business 5.4.1
Release Candidate: February 5, 2015
New Features
- Added "Include Black" option in AutoCal Adjustments checkbox. This is available under the Workflow Advanced Options tab and is saved with the workflow. With this box unchecked, CalMAN will not adjust absolute black in calibrations, but custom black level targets may still be set within the workflow.
- Added "Points Remaining" indicator to progress windows for point-based 3D LUT calibrations.
- Added support for 2014 EIZO models: CG247, CG277, CX241 and CX271.
- Added support for new firmware for Colorimetry Research meters (CR-100, CR-250) that improves meter syncing.
- Ultimate License Only: added new History runtype that allows users to display multiple readings on the same chart.
- Ultimate License Only: added ST.2084 gamma formula for high dynamic range (HDR) displays.
Changes
- Changed default setting for input and output on the DVDO TPG to "Limited." This assures the output levels of the device are not compressed.
- CalMAN support for madVR pattern generator and 3D LUTs now requires version 0.87.13 of the madVR software.
- Computer monitor workflows now default to full PC levels (0-255) for compatibility with the sRGB gamma standard.
Resolved Issues
- Resolved licensing issue with the CR-250 spectroradiometer.
- Resolve an issue that would cause CalMAN to crash or stop during a 3D LUT calibration or LUT retargeting.
- Resolved an issue that prevented workflow charts from updating properly.

I'm not familiar with Calman, do you know if this bundle also includes license for i1Pro2? I have CP, but this looks like a good time to jump in and Calman for free.
