I am possibly considering getting either a ChromaPure3 or Calman calibration package and I am not sure which one would be better for me.
I currently have a JVC RS500 front projector and Lumagen XS with LUT 5x5x5 and mainly use it for Blu Rays.
What is the difference between the two calibration software and related packages?
Some questions and points I have come up with:
1. Cost wise Calman Enthusiast with SpectraCal is about $999 with C6-HDR meter vs Chromapure that is $752 for EyeOne Display 3 Pro + ChromaPure Standard + Advanced Auto-Calibrate.
2. How stable is each of their software?
3. How easy is each to use? I have some experience in past calibration using a Progressive Labs C5 meter but not a lot.
4. Is there a difference between the two meters that come with each package as identified above.
5. Is one package vs the other better future proofed for 4k calibration?
6. How is support for each?
7. Which software do the pros use more of?
8. How long has each been around? Are the companies behind each product small or large?
9. Any other comments or suggestions? Should I be considering something else?
Thanks
Frank
