Sorry, I should have been more specific. Models from their Professional/Business line are different from the consumer versions. The two 6uk's that I have definitely expect PC levels through VGA.

It all depends on which Panny model Ogbuehi is referring to. The new S1 and V10 models will probably use standard, while the current pro version 65" PF11UK will expect pc levels.

That makes sense as pro versions are mainly targeted to be used as large screen PC displays.

I hate to dig up such an old thread, and believe me I have done LOTS of searching, so here goes.

TV- Samsung F8500 60 inch.

HDMI connection.

I have 360 set to
Ref -EXTENDED

1080P

HDMI COLOR SPACE - RGB

Display discovery enabled.

TV SETTINGS

HDMI Black Level-  LOW  (other option is normal, I am under the assumption that LOW = 0-255 and NORMAL is 16-235ish)  Am I correct?

Color Space- NORMAL

Black Tone- Off

Black Optimizer- Off.

Screen size - Screen Fit or 1:1

I cant seem to get it right, I guess what confuses me is the whole HDMI Black Level settings, what is "Low" and what is "Normal".
I know that when I switch between the two in one the colors look real good, but it is darker, and the other looks washed out.

Its hard to figure, because I dont know a good base point to start from with my xbox settings, if one is off then it conflicts with TV and I keep bouncing back and forth.

Any help would be appreciated, its a great TV, what bothers me is when I put FAR CRY 3 in this TV it looks like crap, lots of tearing, colors look off.  I have played the entire game on an Ensignia plasma 52 inch and it looked GREAT!  Now,  I cant even play it.

Yeah the labeling and how MS implemented that is still confusing to me. Why they had to be "different " on something so simple is beyond me.

I just used a black level test pattern and picked the setting that let me set things correctly.

My guess from the many many different posts Ive read is that   LOW -16 to 235 so that would be STANDARD on xbox and that NORMAL - 0 to 256 which would be EXTENDED on xbox.

IF, and a big IF that is the case I wonder if extended is the way to go with a setting of NORMAL in HDMI settings on the TV.  Problem is not many people have this TV in the posts I have read.

I only game from XBOX, so dont care about dvds or netflix, or any media for that matter.
