Actually I don't have SoM, but I do now! Thanks for posting that, otherwise I would have missed it.

Shadow of Mordor is pretty great, especially at that price. I was a little iffy with it when I first started playing, but once I leveled my character up, it got more and more awesome.

And apparently a rival and an ally you make in SoM can be exported to carry forward in the sequel, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, out later this year.

Have to second this, its a game that starts out iffy and gets much better as your ability to dispatch bad guys levels-up. Note, pay attention to the early instructions on how to find the right captains you may need to dispatch, if you don't do that you'll wind up random-encountering yourself to death
half of the time without any game progression (Spoken from experience). Great game, not to be missed under $10, under $5? Buy it twice!

Prime Day is live now. Injustice 2 is $35.99, but I'm not sure if that's actually a good deal or if I should wait for maybe Black Friday. I already bought a bunch from the big Xbox Live sale, so I have to be a bit mindful wallet-wise.

I played it for 20min. While visually very impressive, gameplay...redundant in a big way.

I am not going to argue with you, but it is one of the best games of continuously adding gameplay mechanics as you progress through the game. At the beginning there is not much you can do, and thus it may feel redundant, but latter on, there is enough complexity. Between all the stealth required, shadow moves, rune upgrades, different mounts, branding chiefs, etc, etc, the game is phenomenal in every way and becomes really complex.

Personally I think they did a phenomenal job with all the collectables as well. They are all easy enough to find, pertinent to progressing and are collected while going through different missions in all the different regions in the game.

Giving the game 20 minutes is not adequate enough. You need at least 10 hours before passing judgement as that is when the game just starts getting really good.

Now Ryse was a game I really liked as well, and that game was redundant.

You beat me to it...the game itself is redundant, but I'd make that argument about most of our games that are now 'one genre', like "just" shooters or "just" racing games, this one simply has less to do besides killing orks...there are no forced wagon races to run, no having to ride birds or other bizarro crap, it's just what Assassins Creed would have been like if the game was about combat and not avoiding combat creatively, and one of the few that gets better the further you progress, you can take on much larger crowds and learn to use your environment to your advantage.

Yeah, I may push thru a bit more. I dunno about 10hrs, but maybe enough to see if it gets substantively different. All games have some level of redundancy, so we'll see...

I actually never played this game before, I'm telling you best $4 bucks I ever spent! I agree that it does start a bit slow but as you level up it gets better and better. Have been playing non-stop for the past few days, great game indeed and at that price with all the DLC it's a steal!

I'm not sure I was ever able to complete the game. I ended up taking over every warlord on both tiers...and never went any further. It never seemed like I had a "final objective".
