Dell joint is going crazy with the sales. Everything in the video game section is on sale for PS3 and 360. Consoles on sale accessories and games. The 4000 point cards for $43.
But they are marking things up like Tomb Raider Underworld is $66 with $9 off. Something like that. There are some good deals though.

4000 point cards are almost always $45 at Amazon, with free shipping and no tax for most. I get charged tax at Dell, so it ends up being more there. Actually, most of the deals there aren't any better than the same items at Amazon.

There's quite a few deals that are better. Im in Delaware so I get no sales tax anywhere. I don't have to consider that in any of my deals.

More buy.com deals:

$69.99 Xbox wireless racing wheel
$32.99 for Black Wireless Controller

still active is the Red Wireless controlelr with battery and play and charge $42.99 (this is almost a better deal than the black because the play and charge kit is $19.99, (the battery itself is $12-13 alone).
and wirless network adaptor $69.99 (this is the cheapest I have seen it anywhere).

I bought the wheel and red controller

My favorite racing games:
Dirt
Project Gotham 4
Grid
Test Drive Unlimited
Project Gotham 3

For wheel feedback, Dirt is the best. There is a demo available.

um i got an elite from them back in novem 08. the manufacturer date was June 08. the latest and greatest mo/bo rev. was done sometime at the end of August/early September 08. im sure you prob will get one with a build date of Nov/Dec 08 which would answer your question as a yes.

It will be back. Rumors also floating around that $30 will be the new MSRP...we'll see.

Everyday on Amazon they are $38.99 with free shipping. I know it's not as good as $30, but still pretty good deal if you can't wait.

Those rumors strike me more as wishful thinking than anything else. They seem to be based on nothing more than a few outlets selling the cards at $30 for a short period of time.

What would they do for all the members who (presumably) paid $50 for their current membership? I think it's more a case of Microsoft trying to gain market share by discounting the wholesale price of the service temporarily combined with the soft economic conditions.

The same thing every company does when the product/service they offer has a price drop: nothing. And there's nothing wrong with that...
