As far as cost strategy Microsoft making 2 versions is not smart. I think a more reasonable way to go is license the hardware to a major high end electronics company to make an HT version for a grand. I bet people would buy into that and there would be less backlash against Microsoft. Sorta like the Panasonic q.

Xbox 720? More like Xbox 640, or Xbox 600. Amirite?

Most important 2 things to me would be bluray drive and bigger hard drive and/or ability to upgrade HD without buying an expensive proprietary one. I'm sure we won't have to go thru RROD or something similar. Also want to be able to transfer my DLC to the new iteration.

I don't think people would buy into it, especially if it costs more money. And Microsoft could easily argue that having 2 completely different looking systems on the market confuses people.

I don't think most people care, honestly. It's just weird they still are designed to really look like videogame systems. Except for, this generation at least, Nintendo.

I think they will try to make it look more like a conventional electronic device next round. I would also think Microsoft will try to lose the Xbox moniker after the system is launched. Kind of a fade away like Radioshack is doing right now (going to just The Shack). It won't be named a number, but a one word, all en composing word (sorry not that creative).

PLEASE keep the controller design the same (fix the D-pad).

I would also like a full web browser that works like my PC.

I agree with many of the above posts. The features are good this gen, just make them better.

Xbox Live: TheRealMaxPower --- PSN: TheRealMaxPower

Panasonic TC-P65VT60    Vienna Acoustic Mozart Grands    Onkyo TX-SR805   Sony BDP-S790

Astro Mixamp 2013   Schiit Modi    AKG K702 65th Anniversary   Antlion ModMic    Sennheiser PC360

Theater- Benq W1070    Elite 120" projection...

1. "Conventional" appearance. Hell, even if it looked more like the first Xbox I'd be happier.

2. All streaming features mentioned.

3. 100% backwards-compatible with 360 games. No exceptions.

4. Proprietary drives are fine, just price them a shade more in line with standalone units.

LOL!! That photoshopped controller is funny! I could see a 20 fingered mutant 10 year old getting into that thing!

I don't think MS would mandate 1080p and 4XAA... fact is some developers would want to dial down that stuff and use that extra power to do something else. For example IW locking Call of Duty at 600p.

You mean one word like.... Xbox? MS has put a lot of money into selling the Xbox brand. Next system will retain that.

There's really a limit to what they can do and keep these units price competitive to the PS4. Xbox 720 will have bluray disk drive since all of these Xbox 720 specs require massive storage beyond what a DVD can handle. On top of that, xbox will possibly have a quad core processor with 8 gigs of RAM, a step up from 512 of RAM... with that kind of power its basically a powerful computer, whats left to really improve on in this price range?

from what i hear it has basically the came cpu as the PS4 but a much slower GPU and 8gb DDR3 ram instead of 8gb GDDR5 but that is made up for some by 32MB of eDRAM.

by all the rumors i have seen. it will be considerably weaker then the PS4. we will see though.

i was ready for a new consloe when this thread was made. 3 years ago. and it looks tlike we are getting the consloe we should of gotten then, power wise, now. my pc, with a I5 2500k CPU and SLI 550TIs are better then the spec i have seen rumored. really disappointing.

i am ready for the Next xbox.
