I should post my extermination on SWAT. Hopefully the video hasn't already disappeared.

The math gives you a 1 in 20000 shot of getting a match with Bungie. But at least they're giving a good amount of Cr from the Slot machine.

I did not. I only got to play for about an hour and a half on Bungie day.

I was watching the first person game play stream though. I thought their tactics were very interesting. The best guy mainly used sprint when I was watching. The games were extremely fast paced. For those that say Halo is too slow, they just simply haven't played Reach in a 4 v 4 slayer game.

Most games were pretty even. Sometimes they got totally blown out though. They were fairly conservative, so I don't think they really blew teams out too much.

The games were of top quality, skill level wise. I am pretty sure I would not have been able to hang.

When I got home late at night there were over 77,000 people in that "Bungie Day" playlist.

We beat them by over 9000.

Mathematics is the reason for the season.

Did you really. Very cool!

Just curious, do you think there was anything in particular that helped you secure a game? I was just in the "Bungie Day" playlist.

So Reach is pretty badass with the home theater speakers and subwoofer in 5.1

I finally got a wild hair to check it out and put down the headset (probably because I added a subwoofer lately).

There was something going on funny within the xbox, because I set 5.1 over and over. When I checked it one more time it was oddly in stereo...so I put it in 5.1 again and now it works.

I found the wmv clip bungie put out that someone mentioned...http://www.bungie.net/projects/reach...=faq&cid=28796. That checks to make sure 5.1 is working properly with Reach.

Yeah, explosions are rad.

I didn't do anything special. My teammates were a bunch of randoms. I didn't even spend that much time in that playlist.

So is bungie are you getting steaks sent to you from bungie?

Well I have been using my avr a Denon 4311ci with xbox gaming this week, specifically Halo Reach. I feel I am getting some lag. To the point that the way I have it set up now is not going to work. I of course could be wrong, and that it may indeed not be caused by throwing the 4311 in between the xbox and my tv. But I believe this is the case as I have never really played through an avr, the xbox has always been staight to the tv and I have been having lag issues this week that I have never noticed before.

So I use an hdmi cable from the 360 to the 4311ci in the game hdmi input, with an hdmi cable going from the 4311ci to the tv. I believe there is a milisecond or two lag time in video? I assume I am correct in believing this can indeed be an issue with avr's, am I correct?

I have asked for advice in my receiver's thread. Do you guys have any advice?

It's always possible that your avr is introducing some lag into the game. One thing to try is continue to run the 360 to the tv directly and just run 5.1 optical cable to the receiver.

Yeah, it is...except the xbox live voice channel blew one of my speakers this week. My surround left speaker, where most of the live voice channel is played through (where all the crazy screamers are), is having woofer trouble. I'm pretty pissed. Upon realizing the cause I have muted the voice channel. Not I get to dive into fixing the speaker. Just what I was wanting to do. Of course that is my opinion of the cause of the speaker problem (whatever the problem is), but I am quite certain this was the cause.

I too have read quite a bit about this in the avr forums. A straight answer is pretty tough to nail down. Seems that we pretty much just shrug our shoulders and say, "well, connect it straight to the TV and you'll know there's no problem." Optical out is all well and good, but then when you need to use a headset you have to mess around with all the plugging and unplugging.

I didn't even know that avr's now had any kind of hdmi "game" input. Interesting.

Well actually the game hdmi input I mentioned I believe is irrelevant. I think it could be changed within the avr to cable, or dvd or cd or whatever. Though there are three options for video mode that I can toggle between within the avr, and the one I have it on now is game mode.

That above post is kinda scary.............

Anyway, I downloaded the Halo CE: Anniversary maps (got it free from a friend).

How are they? I so busy playing Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Gears of War 3.....I don't know when I'll play Reach again.
