Anyone else having a problem importing? I'm really irritated by this. I can load up the save just fine in me2, but doesn't work in me3.

Looks like I figured out my problem...I must have overwrote the save of me2 that was after I finished the game. Looks like I need to refinish me2 to do this right. And then replay the hour or so I played of me3. Blah!

Yep, looks like that did the trick.

Really ridiculous that the face didn't import though. And having gone right from me3 back to 2....honestly, the faces look better in 2 to me.

What a mess.

Otherwise, seems awesome so far.

If you have the Collector's Edition, the soundtrack isn't available to download yet after going to social.bioware.com in the registered game contents. All it says is

The full ME3 game doesn't carry any status from the demo. It's cool that at the main menu, the right terminal shows the galactic readiness percentage. I wonder how much harder to keep the percentage up in the single player only if I don't play any multiplayer.

I skipped the demo and I've only played a few hours of the single player. So far, I'm a bit disappointed. How'd they screw up importing your custom face from ME1 and ME2? Why can't you holster your weapon any more? Why do the characters run like something from a game from 10 years ago?

Someone asked about the From Ashes DLC. I thought the mission itself was pretty underwhelming, but it was neat to see a planet from a past game, and what you get after is worth it to me.

The face part I can kinda see. My guess is that ME2's face program was coded differently than ME1's, so ME2's importer included a translator for the face codes. They didn't realize that ME2 didn't actually save the face code if it was directly imported, and since people were expecting import from ME2 to ME3, they probably didn't think much of it. Of course, there is a thing called testing which they obviously should've done a better job with.

Honestly I just went to www.masseffect2faces.com/ and created a new one. They had a better Jean-Luc Picard than I did anyway.

A possible workaround is to start up ME2, import the character from ME1, and write down the face code.

Movement wise - I'm really happy with the faster sprint. Playing through ME1, then ME2 has made me really appreciate this. What really bugs me is the cover system. Last night, just moving from two interior pieces of cover at right angles was almost too fluid. I'll probably get used to it after a while.

For those who preordered from Amazon - I really don't like the Argus Assault Rifle. The recoil is huge, especially if you are trying to aim with LT. It's great for getting headshots at medium to short range, but it's complete garbage at long range.

Multiplayer - I saved up all my credits to get a Spectre pack right away. What did I get? 5 medigels, 1 equipment, 1 shotgun attachment (melee booster), a handgun (phalanx I think), and the Claymore. What a freaking waste! I'd suggest focusing on veteran packs until you get two mods for the weapon type you use most. Then go for Spectre to try for the characters you want.

BTW, had an absolute blast playing Multiplayer last night. I'm going to try and work on lines I can say in-game as a different species. For example:

Elcor
"Sadly, I am down."
"With excitement, I am uploading the data."
"Pointedly, get over here, you stupid n00b."

Hanar
"This one needs to be revived."
"The Enkindlers demand your death."
"This one wishes you would stop sucking."

Harbinger
"This hurts you."
"My attacks will tear you apart."
"Overwhelm them!"

Anyone get anything interesting in their 'packs' on multiplayer?

I got a quarian infiltrator that seems well configured for geth killing. I'm actually considering not carrying any weapons and going completely with tech skills.

The BF3 soldier looks cool but its not my playstyle.

Also a question: Can you reset skill points on a character in multiplayer? (found the answer here): http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/to.../index/9662478

See my above post about my disappointing Spectre pack. Just glad I didn't pay $2 in Microsoft Points for it (seriously, EA?!).

The BF3 character is nice. Carnage is great to spam away, and the frag grenades are rather fun to use. Though unlocking 3 of them may have been a mistake - on bronze, ammo crates only replenish two at a time. So I have to sit by a crate longer to get that 3rd grenade. Though when you're being chased by unholy beings of death, it is nice to slowly back up and chuck grenades at their faces.

The problem with difficulty of getting disc out of metal casing still haven't been solved on X360. PS3 has same problem. But with metal case on Blu-ray movies, 4-disc metal case released for Disney movies completely solved the problem. Even there are 4-disc in the same thinkness case, the discs are well placed and easy to take in and out. Another issue with metal case is the art printing. Most Blu-ray movie metal cases have switched to semi mate surface. That reduces the art from getting scratched by the time you have taken the metal case out of the box.

If you look closely at ME3 CE metal case, it's designed to add another disc holder sleeve inside. Not sure how well the case will close with discs inside.

Does anyone here in this forum also own the PS3 CE? I'm curious if the hardcover art book is physically shorter than the X360 version.

So Im about six hours in....so far really blown away.

I dont really care for the new soldier character (james vega) since he's a bit of a meathead, but maybe he'll grow on me. But the other new character Ive picked up is def a really interesting and unexpected new addition to the team.

I really like how they fleshed the weapon and loot management back out from the way it was almost non-existent in me2. This new system will def have you creeping around levels trying to pick up attachments, and really thinking about the gear you want to use. The leveling system is likewise very similar, but there are some choices to make to more finely tune your squad.

A huge relief is that so far, I havent encountered any stupid time wasting minigames.

On a basic level though, everything from gameplay, graphics, sound etc - has been tangibly improved. This absolutely isnt a lazy sequel like dragon age 2.

Agree on all of your points, but I'm further in than that and still hate James.

Also, there is still scanning, but it's not the miserable time-waster that it was in ME2. You scan while flying through each solar system, and it tells you which planets have something on them to scan, and you don't have to keep buying probes. Still not something I love, but not miserable any more.

It's the same size. The steelbook, cardboard packing, etc. are all the same size as a 360 game/dvd case as well. Kind of irks me, my minor OCD wants all my PS3 cases the same size

I have never failed. I just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

I got the quarian infiltrator too... amazing against geth, so-so for cerberus, and near useless against reapers... unless you never really use cryo blast, then you're not missing anything by having sabotage instead.

re:bf3 soldier.... I actually dont care for the soldier class, i think it's my least favorite, but Carnage is infinitely better than concussive shot (aside from recharge speed) and the BF3 class is much better than a human soldier.

didn't read the link, but there are char reset cards in the vet/spectre packs (maybe only spectre?)

drell adept movement speed is amazing, barriers are like 450 but you're so fast and maneuverable.

You can reset your character by either getting a reset card or by sending him/her as a 'war asset' (promotion) when they hit 20. You then restart them at lvl 1.

yea, i saw the promote button.... wonder what happens if you're at 100% readiness? i'm guessing the whole class goes to level one? (like all of your vangards)

How does it tie your readiness to your characters? For example, if you want one character's solo play to have a high readiness, but want a lower readiness with another character.
