Stealth 500x

For anyone who's on the fence about purchasing the 500x, I can say that I am a very happy that I picked one up.

I had the Astro A50s with a PS4 and when I switched over to the Xbone I sold them (hated having to use the chat cable). That being said, I am very happy with the performance from the 500x. The Astros are arguably better in terms of sound quality, but the TBs aren't far behind and the 500x's chat quality is MUCH better, not to mention wireless.

Just my 2 cents

Steel Series Question:

I received the Steel Series H for Crimmus. The problem is the Xbox cable that came with it is a 2.5mm on both ends, so it won't fit into the Xbox headset adapter (too loose). Has this happened to anyone else? Not a big deal, but I'm annoyed that I have to go out to purchase a 2.5mm to 3.5mm wire or adapter.

I think mine didn't have one and I used the one that came with the headset adapter. Been too long to remember, but I know I didn't buy any other cables.

The Xbox cable is listed on the bag as a xbox 360 cable but that changed with the XB1. I already had a 2.5 - 3.5 cable that I purchased earlier in the year so I never noticed till I checked the box. But Klunk is right, the Xbox headset adapter came with a 2.5 - 3.5 adapter, at least it used to.

Yup, there's one in the box with the adapter. Didn't even think about that (honestly surprised they supplied one).

Thanks!

As far as the charger, mine are plugged into USB outlet right next to my lazyboy already.

So I've finally gotten around to gathering the required pieces to make my TB X12's work with the XB1. I have the XB1 Stereo headset adapter, and just picked up a TB Ear Force DSS for $12 on eBay. I connected everything yesterday in this manner:

XB1 optical out --> Ear Force DSS optical in
XB1 USB --> Ear Force DSS USB
Ear Force DSS USB --> TB X12 USB
Ear Force DSS 3.5mm out --> TB X12 Green 3.5mm

With this connection setup, I'm getting good volume on game audio & receiving chat audio, and I can also chat.

Here's my issue/question; I have (3) different interfaces where I can control volume, bass boost, etc. (Ear Force DSS, TB X12, XB1 headset adapter), and I don't know what the optimum levels are for each. Actually I guess (4) interfaces, including the chat/gameplay audio levels in the XB1. Also, I'm assuming the settings on the XB1 should be set to Bitstream Out, then Dolby Digital?

I guess just a little guidance/clarification would be assuring.

Thanks,
Matt

I have mine set like this...

DSS2- Volume about 7 on the dial- EQ-Bass Boost on Normal and the Surround on setting 3.

Headset Adapter I set it to chat at FULL-no game volume mixing(will cause an echo with the x12)

X12 dials to a level where I can hear the game and my team mates well but its also the easiest to adjust. Barely any roll on the bass boost though(due to the DSS2).

With that it sounds great. IF you have the chat adapter pass any game sound you will get a faint echo in the headset.

max out the chat and volume on the headset adapter and max out the tb dss, use the controls on the x12 amp for everything after that. also leave the bass boost turned all the way down if you can.

also i just bought one of these cables and they are brilliant!

we run our dss maxed, default settings on the dss, max out the chat and volume buttons on the headset adapter. we use only the dials on the x12 amp to adjust everything and we never use the headset adapter for anything.
