Odd. Like Zath's continual, ongoing obsession with the A-10 "glitch," you're the only person I've heard having this much of a problem with a deadzone issue. (I've heard it passively mentioned or discussed, but never to the point of anyone saying it made the game "unplayable or broken.")

Why do you think it only seems to happen to you and not other players...at least to this degree?

Yeah the deadzone in this game is definitely not done properly. Been that way since the beta. If you have a very new controller you're fine, but if it's been used a bit, you'll have a lot of drift issues. The biggest problem being that it's damn near impossible to deploy a bipod if you have these drift issues, since it won't deploy if it's drifting even slightly.

Personally, I dealt with it by buying a new controller, which has eliminated the issue. Should I have had to? I guess not, but it was about time anyway, so no harm done.

I have one controller that drifts really bad, and another one that is manageable. The game is definitely 100% playable with the controller that works better. The one with the drifting is playable but extremely frustrating.

My suggestion for bd would be to either get a new controller or just move on to another game.

Yeah I know I need a new controller. I notice it mostly in Skyrim - when I go into the objectives menu I get alot of auto scrolling. So MS official controllers are still the way to go?

Hmm, I really never notice but maybe thats why lately its been a B**ch to deploy the bipod. I have a newer controller upstairs, I may have to switch em up and see if there is a difference.

Here to help and learn. Thanks AVS.

It just has to do with the way I use the sticks. Maybe I'm just too stuck in my ways from the 8bit era where there was no analog control and you just had to tap tap tap. When the **** hits the fan and I need to make a minor adjustment, I give the stick a tiny little flick. I also never keep my thumb on the stick when firing so I don't unintentionally move it. The result is that whenever the stick flies back to recenter itself, it over swings just far enough that it triggers a move to the opposite direction, I miss, and I die. This happens 50-75% of the time. Its a total game breaker.

I know I'm the odd man out, otherwise this would be absolutely scandalous to everyone. Im not griping about a small issue, it really is absolutely game breaking for me. The fact remains that I haven't had this problem with 200 other 360 games, and it happens on my old and brand new controller (post launch from nov), so I'm not giving them a pass on it or relearning how to use a controller. All I can do is wait for them to fix it and work properly like every other game, but at this point, I'm losing faith.

Spyder, the A-10 issue isn't that big of a deal for me. Or you. Or anyone else who's good in the jet. You're right, it works wonders for finishing off a regular kit. If you're good in them. I'm thinking more about people who are new and just got their first kill, only to find out it didn't count. This happened with Kabob once when we were trying to get him points. It also happened to Link - he got all excited and then I told him the bad news.

bd, I understand what you mean now. That would be frustrating. I have an idea though - I'll PM it to you.

Anyways, when is the next patch slated to be released? I haven't really been following it that closely.

So that's why my tanks are always drifting, I could never figure that out. I still have the same controllers I bought when I first got my Xbox. I have 2 that I rotate, but it has been about 3 years now.

Glad to see some things cleared up, if unresolved. I have some small drift, it happens in tanks to a very, very small degree, but it only REALLY bothers me in the AA gun. It seems to affect nothing else for me whatsoever. I can play around it when it happens though. Also, it has happened to me on other games a bit, but I'm assuming it was a bad controller.

To those of you that are still on your first, second, or even third controller, I applaud you. I'm easily on at least my 15th. BC2/BF3 have cost me a few...wear/tear and/or flat-out throwing a couple at the wall. Rage isn't pretty.

It actually isn't a problem for me at all in vehicles, since they have inertia that counteracts the bounceback.

In some sense it's caused by the controller since wear and tear makes it worse, but the game should be designed to take that into account. BC2 was just fine, so I simply don't understand how this issue crept into their new engine other than sheer carelessness.

LAV-AD is the Russian AA gun. Needless to say it only appears on Wake when Ru holds B and the American version is gone. Just like the BTR it was horribly implemented. I was trying to figure out why I had no kills in it and finally figured all that out. Think I've only ever used it once.

Controllers don't take falls to the floor very well either. Moline drifts left constantly unless I barely tap it the other way. When I can afford a new one, it's on the list...

Jumping out at the last minute. I remember the first time it happened to me. Another guy and me were waiting for the chopper. A third guy came up, ran off grabbed the buggy and drove it over me, jumping out right before it hit me. The chopper spawned immediately and he, and the other guy jumped in it.
