I absolutely love my fps pro from mad catz. The ONLY problem I have with it is the quick engage triggers-- the triggers are 'hair triggers' which engage at the beginning of the pull, the problem is there are no trigger stops do you still get (most) of the travel of a normal Xbox pad. This becomes an issue when you're using semi-auto or even fast 3 round burst weapons like the famas or g11 as you have to fully release the trigger to get the next pull! There have been quite a few times in the heat of battle where I've mis-fired and I end up dead because I didn't let the trigger up all the way.

They were the first to come up with the tactical buttons on the rear of the gamepad-- too bad they placed them too high to be useful. I bet mad catz is kicking themselves over the success of the paddles on the scuf controllers. Still, mad catz could yet fix this by just moving them lower or making the buttons themselves longer (oblong) to accommodate larger hands. I have a hard time listing this as a fault as it is an excellent idea that just wasn't executed well. So too, I feel complaining about the crappy D-pad is sort of silly as it's no better or worse than the original controller.

Other than those issues the fps pro is money! The sticks are über responsive and have a bit more radius of travel than the standard pad. They're also silky smooth-- seriously my biggest fear with the scuf controller is I might have a hard time going back to the creaky Xbox sticks. They also have a nice dead zone which is something most 3rd party controllers lack. I love the finish and grip on the controller. As I said before, my hands don't sweat but the fps pro FEELS more expensive in your hand. I never thought that lights on a gamepad was anything but a gimmick to attract children but the stick lights are kinda cool...

Overall it's a better gamepad for fps than the standard controller and at 40 smackers it's hard to complain as it's cheaper than the OEM.

How involved is removing the trigger stops? If it's not too time-consuming, I might get one to go along w/ my Tritton Warheads when they're released(might as well let the credit card go down in flames, right?).

No, it's pretty easy, but I wouldn't do it more than a couple times. You can just unscrew them with an allen wrench. They don't supply one, so you'll have to get one. If you play a lot of games that aren't compatible with the trigger stops, I would just leave them off.

Yea buddy I got a head start on this already =p

All jokes aside, I don't get how this will impact Activision or IW? This isn't like gas prices where if we didn't buy gas then the oil rich fraggle rocks going to lose money. Activision already got our money when we bought the game and they don't make money on it everytime we get online to play, so, yeah...I don't see how this is going to do anything.

RVD 4:20 says I just smoked your a$$! (Not everyone will get that one).

And yes I agree this will do no good. Does Activision care that you aren't playing the game ... nope they got our money already and they running all the way to bank.

I love a good obscure wrestling reference.

95% of the complaints are things they either can't or won't do anything about. And are we supposed to take a "blackout" seriously when it's scheduled for Pot Day?

Yep.

Except the difference there is that the outrage was so universal and widespread (we're talking filing complaints with the FTC and collecting tens of thousands of dollars in donations against it).....that they're actually going to fix it. I think the success of that and the sense of entitlement is starting to spill over.

In any case....my recommendation is not to play ME3 till the summer, until the "extended cut" DLC comes out.

Well that was kind of my plan anyway. Like I said, I'm playing ME2 now, straight after finishing ME1. I don't know what they were thinking but man did they dumb down the RPG elements from the first game. Is 3 more like 1 or 2?

Anyway, I have a huge backlog, so it'll be awhile before 3 gets cheap enough for me to buy it and I have time enough to play it. What was the deal with the outage anyway?

3 is a lot more like 2 than 1. It's basically a shooter with some dialog. A little more character customization than 2, but still nothing at all like 1.

Still, it's amazing...the outrage is entirely confined to the ending, and honestly, the less you know the better.

Lol! Without spoiling anything-- the ending(s) so badly rubbed fans the wrong way that bioware is considering changing it. Didn't play myself but I have a friend who bitched about it for WEEKS.
And you guys thought I was bad bitching-- correction: pointing out the obvious flaws-- about modern warfail 3!

I just logged on to Black ops (ps3) and I was surprised to see that it over 308,000 people playing. So I logged into MW3 and it had 362,000 people playing. I never knew that the gap was so close.smh

LOl, what a dumbass "boycott". I'm all for a few of their gripes being fixed, but the stuff they are asking for goes beyond what is even possible with hotfixes and patches. Wanting entire Killstreak rewards removed? Get real, they can't patch that out. They have some decent gripes but some of this stuff is just silly, especially when you're calling for a boycott of a game you have already paid for.

Do any of them have recoil? :P

I like to snipe fools with a range equipped pp90m1-- when I quit this game to go back to black ops I was SHOCKED at how much more I had to control my bursts. Of course, in blops you can always go famas and just lay on the trigger... But my famas-hole days are long behind me.

The CM901 sure has lots of it....heck, even the G36, a gun I really like, has a great deal if you go wild and hold the trigger.

You're doing it wrong. Throw kick on the CM901 and you can go full auto snipe just like mw2. Actually-- I think mw2 had MORE recoil then this game!

G36-- same. Although why would you give up the free headshots?? G36 recoil is STRAIGHT up!

Kidding. Of course they have recoil but thanks to kick you can make any weapon a laser rifle (even the bucking bronc LMGs have been tamed). Nah, give me cod4 recoil-- progressive, linear and predictable.

Even the SCAR has SOME recoil, but in that video it looks as if that MP7 literally has zero. I'll have to try it out...

I wasn't saying I minded the recoil, just pointing out the guns that do offer a reasonable amount of recoil. I'm not doing anything wrong, I use kick on the g36 and most other guns for that matter.
