There are a couple of fairly safe places to hide them & at least keep them alive to where you can revive them at need (one of the corners of the map has enemies spawn near it but is fairly safe compared to the rest of it). Believe the person we had in there with us was level 18 or so to start with.

I decided to pick up B2 as soon as it comes up, the article I just read got me pumped up for it.

I think I left off at level 62. All this talk and the wait for 2 has me thinking about grinding it out to level 69.

That's nearly the exact point I was at when I last left off. Getting to L69 took < half a day of just messing around.

I apologize if this has been already asked a few times. With B2 coming out I am seriously consider picking it up. But I am also considering getting Borderlands 1 to get a feel for the game, its super cheap, etc. I'm not much of a co-op or multi-player guy at all. Do you think I will enjoy Borderlands 1 if I play it single-player the entire time? Am I really missing anything (other than standard co-op fun) if I play it by myself?

And is it worthwhile getting the GOY edition which is about $11 more or should I stick with the normal edition?

Thanks.

I'm also not a co-op or multiplayer guy, and I loved the first Borderlands as a single-player game.

I've played exclusively single player on Borderlands and loved it. I'm not averse to playing co-op (actually, I really like it), I just usually don't match up schedule wise and am too lazy to put forth the effort to get groups together at the same time.

I'd definitely get the GOY edition, the DLC's are pretty good outside of Mad Moxxi's.

I've finished the game 2 times by myself and twice more with 4 other players. Fun either way. You absolutely, positively want the GotY edition in every way possible.

If you don't have that DLC it isn't a big deal. Can always try to level somewhere else.

I played single player and loved it though the ending was sort of a letdown.
I do have a question for the borderland players that pay more attention, is there any benifit to having a good save file before Borderland 2 comes out? I finally changed 360s last christmas but did not copy over my game saves. I was thinking of playing the game some more to get some of the achievements I missed by not playing all the characters but I have Dues Ex an Crysis 2 and witcher 2 sitting here so not sure if its worth it at the moment...unless I get some bonus in 2.

There's a bonus for having played BL, but I don't think the developers have indicated if it's tied to a specific achievement or just having a save file.
From what I remember reading though it's just some character skins.

Thanks all for the responses! You talked me into it, I'll pick up a used copy this weekend and if all goes well pre-order the sequel shortly after.

I'm so buried in games right now I can't get excited about this one yet frown.gif loved the first though. The only drawback was the rampant gun hacks. Can't complain too much I guess some of the ones who did helped out on the second playthrough at the end. Almost considered it myself to get through that arena garbage but gave up on ever finishing that part.

You mean the Moxxi levels? Easiest way is to have a very low level character be the host and everyone else is a very high level. Even then it is still very tedious, never finished it myself either.

Even though I LOVED the first, I never finished the 3 Largest Arena Achievements either. 100 levels is just too, too much. frown.gif

Yea the Moxxi arena. That completely sucked and was pointless except for cheevos. No XP or weapon drops not to mention so freaking hard. Level 60s when you could only hit 50. Only real way was to cheat it seemed.

Ok, got mine preordered. It's through GF with ground shipping so I'll be a little late to the party but there's plenty coming out the week before anyway.

I'm starting on PC because I got it pre-ordered for $38. But when it's on sale for xbox I'll be picking it up there too. Hopefully the PC version has a better multiplayer system than the first game.

Exactly, I was determined to get all the achievemnts for the game since it was my favorite co-op game of all time but I enjoy my free time too much to gind out several hours in the arena for those last few points...

Really looking forward to B2.. Should be epic

Here's an hour's worth of gameplay from Gamespot. No spoilers on story as its arena play but there's some great stuff in there on skill trees for Axton and Maya and character customization. Also some good footage of the weapon viewer. And there's a sneak peek of the mechromancer as well.

Its played on PC with 360 controllers.

Any info on best place to pre-order? I couldn't tell if different shops had different extras - all I could find was that Amazon has a credit and Gamestop if offering an arena (I believe) and a rocket launcher. Didn't have time to read up on it to see if it's worth it or not.

$10 Amazon credit is a no-brainer IMO.

Gamestop's hoard arena might be nice, but I don't think it's worth $10 +tax on $60. Maybe it will be available later as DLC?

The Slaughter dome DLC will be available at a later date for anybody who doesn't buy at gamestop. One of those timed release deals. I haven't ordered a game from amazon in a while after they quit offering 99 cent release day shipping. Borderlands 2 is a game I'm not willing to wait a couple days to get here.

Mechro might be cool but I'm loving the sound of Turret 2.0 smile.gif loved dropping one in the thick of things least until very late levels when it wasnt quite as effective.

I'm not willing to wait either - didn't realize they stopped the 99 cent release day shipping and my Prime membership expired earlier this summer. Sounds like Gamestop will get my instant gratifcation $$. Thanks.
