Has anyone downloaded this yet to give a brief review? I was about to purchase it when I saw it's retailing for $10. Hard to justify paying $10 for a game that's $3 on my tablet...but I'm curious to hear about the differences between this on the big screen and on my 10" screen.

I did the trial. I have a hard time buying a game for $10 that was a free download on my phone (got it free on the amazon market daily free app). It played great but I think I'll wait till it's on sale or get Gunstringer (which has a code for FN included)

I love this game!  As of today, 08/28/12, it's still among my top 10 XBLA games of all time...  actually top 5 now that I think about it.

here's me playing it:

Got it yesterday....haven't played too much yet. Why? Because you can't! After about 20 min, I was soaked with sweat! Very fun playing the co-op and the vs. mode. Maybe not as accurate as the iphone version,,,,but the xbox game is more about going crazy fruit choppin, and not as much about making the precise multi fruit chops.

It's awesome.
My girls and I played it for a couple of hours yesterday.
Honestly it's the first game that really takes advantage of your feet as well as your hands, because you can use both to chop the fruit and it tracks perfectly.

I paid $.99 for it on my phone, not a very deep game. It can entertain my kids for a few minutes every now and then. Kind of embarrassing that it became a $10 Kinect game. I hope it gets some none arms waving games soon.

Now playing: Destiny, Madden, Diablo 3, PvZ: GW
Recently Finished: Infamous: First Light, Watch Dogs
PSN & XBL: Scuzzlebutt33

Tried the demo and thought it was very good. Some of the best tracking and precise/quickest tracking yet. Much better than kinect adventures or other games i have tried. Good fun, and call me crazy, but it is easier when u chop like a ninja....

It's Fruit Ninja.. It seemed very well done from the demo but really there is not much in the way of gameplay in FN. I would have dropped $5 just to play it for a while and see how I score but I had no desire to drop $10. When so many deep games just came out for only $15.

just finished the demo and wow. that's some great stuff. at first, I was conservative and did poorly on my first try, missing fruit. but once I let go and swung like a ninja, it was awesome. I was deftly navigating between bombs. Got a couple 6-fruit combos. Unleashed a few bananas to rachet things up.

Man! I can't wait for The Gunstringer to come out so I can slice some fruit!!!

And man, that is an intense few minutes of Fruit Ninja. I was seriously sweating.

Just bought the full game today, lots of fun. While it's not a deep game, it is fun. You know what you're getting with this game.

Played this with another couple last night for half an hour and was beat afterwards. I tried Kinect Adventures after playing Ninja and was very underwhelmed. Ninjas tracking seems way more precise and accurate...... makes sense since it had more time to develop and make use of Kinect......makes me excited for new Kinect games,

This is my favorite game other than Dance Central. And yes, the tracking seems much tighter than some of the other titles. Definitely worth $10, it's more fun than many of the other "disc" titles IMHO.

I've got some stuff.

Exactly, the mechanics used in this game don't seem as gimmicky as the many other kinect titles I have tried (Kinectimals, Adventures, Sports, Sonic Riders, Joy Ride.....). Maybe it's because there is one basic swiping/slashing motion that needs to be registered and they focused on getting that perfect. Whatever they did they nailed it. Awesome fun title

I played the co-op, it works really well and is a ton of fun - just don't knock each other out!

I didn't realize there was a demo, I'll have to give this a shot! Glad to hear user reviews here, IGN beat it up with a 5.5.

Good thing I don't go by reviews. My family and I have been having a blast with the game. I never even played the Iphone version until after I got this one.

The 5.0 is here

Just wanted to add that if you have an assortment of nerf and ninja toy weapons around the house you can actually wield them while playing the game. It doesn't do an awesome job of tracking them but it does work some what and adds another dimension to the game. Try it out see how you like it.

TV - Samsung DLP 4674W
Receiver - Pioneer 1015-K
Speakers - Polk 6901 (7.1 setup)
Sub - PSW303
DVD - LG 3510A

I wonder how long it'd take before a SWAT team would show up!

My daughter saw a YouTube add and insisted we buy this. I still think it should be $5 but it is very fun to play, especially with the kids.

I leave every session however hoping we see Infinity Blade on Kinect. I remember posting somewhere that there is no way the Kinect tracked hands well enough for IB but I stand corrected after playing this game.

Halfbrick announces 8-Bit Cartridge DLC for Fruit Ninja KinectTM

Retro style meets modern gameplay, debuting at PAX Prime

Brisbane, Australia – August 28th, 2012 – To celebrate the golden age of gaming and add even more content to Fruit Ninja Kinect™, Halfbrick has announced the imminent release of the 8-Bit Cartridge DLC for the XBLA favorite. With a funky chiptunes soundtrack and gigantic pixels everywhere, the classic style of retro games comes alive in the modern motion-controlled masterpiece!

The DLC features the Super Retro Land background, Game Man shadow and Pixel Love blade – not to mention a complete graphical overhaul as Sensei and his beloved fruit receive a serious downgrade. Releasing this Friday, August 31st for 160 Microsoft Points, the 8-Bit Cartridge pack is the first of many more DLC packs planned for Fruit Ninja Kinect™ throughout the remainder of 2012.

As long-time exhibitors and supporters of the Penny Arcade Expo, Halfbrick staff will be on hand this week at PAX Prime in Seattle (Booth 6115) to demo the 8-Bit Cartridge. The fun doesn't stop there – Halfbrick is giving away free download codes for the DLC to each and every person who visits*!

Since its initial release as part of the 2011 Summer of Arcade , Fruit Ninja Kinect™ has been downloaded over 1.5 million times, cementing its place as one of the most popular XBLA games of all time.
