I'm a .net programmer and xbox fan so I was really looking forward to WinPhone 7. I got tired waiting for the initial launch so I jumped over to iPhone 4 when it launched.

I think this is the first time I've been enticed to jump back. Still could use dual core cpu, but big step in the right direction:

VZW pretty much doesn't care about WP7

I wouldn't say it's the first decent WP7....my HTC Surround is the best phone I've ever owned and it's so good I'll probably stay with the WP platform when I renew at the end of 2012.

sources say iOS and android... logical move if you want to sell software.

MS job postings for the mobile division are looking for developers for both iOS and android.

I guess I can't tell what is really so great about these Nokia phones compared to say, an HTC Radar. Anybody have anything specific in favor for the Lumia?

I wouldn't say that.

Verizon is a CDMA network and the device firmware and OS have to be modified extensively for it, which takes a lot of time. WP7 for Sprint (the other CDMA network) just started selling, Verizon should not be far behind.

I am not a big fan of HTC phones as they usually don't have the best display. Nokia is bit slicker and it should have significantly longer batter life.

It also has a better camera.

See to me that just sounds incrementally better, not life changing, revolutionary, sell your first born for this phone type of better.

If the CPU was dual core, the memory was up to 1gig, the resolution markedly better, the camera had better optics, not just more pixels, then yes, I would be on board.

it's the little details that make the Nokia better than the HTC. the screen is better. HTC makes great phones with good screens but not great screens. the Nokia is an LTE phone. the design is very classy. it doesn't look like the typical phone make out of a bunch of different pieces.

everyone who's used a Windows Phone knows how great it runs. It doesn't need a dual core just to have smooth UI animations like some other major OS.

Apparently, the Lumia 900 will be in stores in April. The exact date is still not confirmed by Nokia but rumor is 04/08 or 04/09. Also rumored is att.com will begin pre-orders as early as tomorrow.

I have an iPhone 3GS and I am ready for an upgrade. I love the iPhone but I want to try something else.

I got the Lumia 800 (same phone except screensize), and i love it.
Had iphone 3gs, then switched to an nexus s then lumia 800 (im in europe).
And i must say this is the most satified i've ever been with a phone.

I have a Focus S and am happy with it. The hardware isn't as nice as Nokia but the screen is gorgeous and the sound is decent. It's just "4G", not LTE but I do notice a slight increase in download speeds compared to my older Focus. As this is the gaming forum though I'll stick with talking about Xbox Live on the phone. I'm somewhat disappointed because frankly it's not what I thought it'd be. The game selection is decent I guess but eh they definitely need to work on using this as their killer app. As it stands now the branding is cool and all but really there's not too many games on Live portable that make me just go "wow I have to get a phone for that". They need their Halo style must have and Fable Coin Golf and The Harvest aren't it.

That's good to hear. I pulled the trigger and I should have the phone by Friday.

For those interested, if you want to give the Lumia 900 a whirl, you can get the phone for free if you are a new AT&T customer and willing to sign a 2YR contract.

Please check AT&T reception where you live/work. Apparently, it's not great in some areas. Works fine for me in the Boston area.
