Does anyone else find it amusing that these kids have the best gaming monitor with no input lag money can buy, a modded scuff controller, the best headset, and gunnar gaming glasses and continue to get owned at COD? There comes a point where these kids need to realize that they are bad, have ****** reaction time, and they need to go out side to pick up a ball or something. It's bad enough that the companies dumbed down the first person shooter games to the point where it's almost impossible to not get some kills, but to still suck despite having every advantage in the book? May their local gamestop help them, because no one else will.

Is anyone even still playing this?

I only ask because I could use a few good men (or women) for some black ops 1 action. Who's up for fighting the future by playing a game of the past? ...about the past? ...but only we're playing it now so you see we're fighting the future. Yeah.

I got on today for about 45 minutes, with the constant matchmaking going on,got in 2 crappy matches. Picked up BF3 awhile back but never played it.I think I'm ready to jump over.

We still play regularly however there has been major matchmaking problems the last month or so.

If we get over 4 people it starts taking longer to get into matches, and if you have 6 it's almost impossible. not ALL the time, but it's definitely not been working quite right.

For a series that has been out as long as CoD that basically just throws a new coat of paint up every year and rakes in the millions as cusrtomers line up eagerly to pay their hard earned money, matchmaking not working almost 10 months after release seems pretty inexcusable at this point.

I bet league play works.

In other news: Black ops one's matchmaking is working juuuust fiiine... smile.gif

Nah, it's 80% connection based, 10% skill and 10% luck (lobbies with n00bs). If you ever wonder how far ahead someone is due to lag comp, just equip an RPG and watch what happens. rolleyes.gif

Anybody have any feedback on the new maps yet? Hoping to hop on fairly early this evening and if all goes well, ignore the Mrs for a full night of playing.

Yeah, I like them all. "Apocalypse" is a great final DLC.
Treyarch still has the superior maps to IW/etc...from the art to the design they are more interesting and play better IMHO.

I'm guessing most of you will hate "Dig" the most because it's small, it's all corners and has tons of head glitches.
I've played it at least 20 times now in all different game modes and never had the same game twice.
I hate predictability in maps.
People camping the same corner/building, etc...no matter the mode gets old.
"Dig" has got a killer flow to it though and no one weapon is perfect for it.
Quickscopers are especially at a disadvantage so you don't see many.

"Frost" might look like a ripoff of "Berlin Wall" but it's not.
Yeah, it's urban and Eastern Bloc looking but it's got a totally different flow, levels, etc...plus no crazy DMZ with turrets.
As with all Treyarch maps you have to keep your head on a swivel because you can usually get hit from 2-3 angles no matter where you are on the map.
Personally I like to work under the bridge during Dom and Demo matches.
It gives me access to all the major routes to either side of the map.
That said I can never hold it for long.

Sidebar:
That's another thing I like about Treyarch's DLC maps: it's hard to camp one spot for a whole match. Someone will always find away to kill you.
The maps that came wth the original release had some wicked camp spots, ie; the upstairs office on Hijacked, the 2nd story control room on Express, laundry on Raid, multiple spots on Yemen and Standoff.
The DLC maps haven't been as bad.
IMHO Treyarch likes to lull us into a certain sense of security with maps and then yank it away in the next set of maps.
I like that. Keeps things interesting and forces you to stay on your toes.

"Pod" is a PITA. It's the map everyone is complaining about the most because it's unpredictable whether you play Dom, S&D, Demo, etc...ya gotta watch your back.
Such a great mix of scenarios in one map.

"Takeoff" is the Black Ops DLC map "Stadium" reskinned.
Looks great, and plays great like the original.
I wish they would have brought back "Hazard" or "Drive In" but that's quibbling.

BTW - Plus the new Zombz adventure "Origins" is the best they've made in a loooong time. If you haven't played MP Zombies mode you are missing out. It's a lot of fun. Plus you can jump into a party of random and usually find, unlike normal MP, very motivated teammates who
want to succeed and work together.

Dig is the old Courtyard map from COD: World at War. I have only played "DIG" a few times and while I know my way around the map, I still need a few seconds to figure out where I am after respawning due to re-skin.

+1, The new maps rock.....Dig is lots of fun and anti-camper.

I also thought Frost was very Berlin Wall-like.

Pod is really awesome as you have to keep moving or get flanked from multiple sides.

I had no idea that Takeoff was a Stadium remake. That explains why "B" is death valley in Domination.

Isn't it double XP all week for Blops2 AND MW 3? Has anyone check MW 3? I tried it and it doesn't seem like double XP to me

My son and I gave up playing online and have been playing 9 on 2 local. It's just as crazy as playing online. Bots not even aimed at you killing you, no bullets coming out of the gun until after you die, popping up out of nowhere firing before you even have a chance to react... Man this was one tough year of COD.

3D on Xbox 360 -- Help -- Black Ops II

I play Blops 2 on Xbox 360. I just got a 3D TV for the first time.

I've read that you can play it in 3D.

I found the setting and turned it on.

But my TV does not alert my to an incoming 3D signal.

I have played with a lot of the settings in the Xbox 360 itself, as I have read that one should set the 360's resolution to 1080i or even 720p for 3D play. These still do not work.

Any advice would be great.

Thank you.

It outputs side-by-side (or top-down) 3D which is in normal video signal format (Xbox 360 can't send real full-HD frame packing 3D signal as that requires HDMI 1.4). As such, your TV will never be able to tell there is a 3D signal comes in. You have to manually set your TV to one of these modes to match the signal type (side-by-side or top-down).
