Well, by that logic you should be able to snipe w/ the SMG's then, right? Is it a PREFERENCE not to snipe w/ short range weapons? More like a factual reality within the scheme of the game. Why would they limit a short range weapon's ability to kill at long range w/ one shot(unless you get a one in a million shot)? Because it's NOT a sniper rifle, that's why. Same should go for quick-scoping in CQ w/ a sniper rifle. Otherwise, the give and take of a weapon's pros/cons/advantage/disadvantage system breaks down. Sure, it's a game, so it's ultimately not realistic anyhow. However, for shooters to "work", there should be some baseline expectations in regards to realism. The expectation that someone shouldn't be in CQ w/ a sniper rifle(or 1 shot killing at extended range w/ SMG's, etc.) is a completely reasonable one. It's not a condemnation of the game in it's entirety by any means, but a valid critique/improvement they could make.

lol, Agree with me or not. COD is far from the same game that it was before. I for one wish for a balance of COD 4. With the implementation of black ops. Points for unlocking things was just awesome. NON stacked killstreaks. COD 4 game play as just almost perfect. Sniping ironically was better in 4 then any other cod I've played.

If they really are making it so you need to use an attachment to get iron sights in order to quickscope, then I'm cool with that. If you have to give up your long range capabilities to shoot people in the face point blank, it's a fair trade. Quickscoping was cheap cause you could have the best of both worlds.

Every time I try to play, I seem to have connection issues.
Modern warfare games seem to be the worst.
Comcast says there is nothing wrong with my connection.
No, I am not connected wirelessly either.
All of my speedtest.net results seem ok.
Next time I run a test I will post the results.
Check out my ping times -
23ms - is that bad?

Perhaps I need a new router, I guess I could pick one up from newegg.com wink.gif

It's even more retarded that you can put an ACOG, much less iron sights, on a sniper rifle. So, no, using iron sights isn't going to make it better. Worse, if anything.

What's the big deal though? It'll still be way harder to use in CQB than a shotgun.

We'll see I suppose but I doubt it. People use the MK14, M16, Type 95, and sniper rifles with ACOG in CQ in MW3. It seems like exchanging an ACOG for an iron sight will only make it worse. Talk about best of both worlds...it's not like you need a scope to see across a CoD map as it is. You can have an iron sight on a sniper rifle and still snipe at least as effectively. Hopefully they're smart enough to at least gimp the long range accuracy if you use an iron sight.

Sounds like they are using some of the lame BF3 ideas. Iron sights on a sniper is just flat out dumb. But I guess it's better then nothing.

Well with any gun when you're using iron sights vs an acog or sniper scope, your aim assist range is reduced, so it's much harder to get on target at range, especially if you use high sensitivity. Plus the iron sights are more obstructive. ACOG is still an option but it sights in slower. As long as they don't let you use the quickdraw attachment, it seems balanced.

I don't think it'll be that popular though. They're basically the bolt actions from world at war, which almost no one used.

If you Prestige and unlock a gun, you'll pick up at the weapon level where you left off.

Yep. Definitely eases the pain of prestiging a little bit.

Just got this bug from QA. "Weapon levels are given after unlocking a gun that was leveled up on a past level progression." +

David Vonderhaar ‏@DavidVonderhaar
That's what we call NAB. Not a bug. If you Prestige and unlock the gun, you'll pick up right where you left off. :P

Looks like they are giving a reason to prestige. Keep gun levels, limit unlocking all items during a single prestige. Requiring prolly all prestiges to unlock everything?
