I have been playing on Panasonic Plasmas for a few years now and never had issues with them at all. Tried playing 360 on the LCD up stairs and image is not as smooth (with and with out the 240hz crap). I now use a projector, but the plasma was awesome!

I prefer LCD for the no-burn-in, lower power draw, and I'm not that picky about off-center picture quality. My Sony 52" LCD looks great to me.

I just bought a plasma for gaming and I'd say that for a person that wants perfection in their black levels and has a very light-controlled room and can be diligent about preventing burn-in, plasma is the way to go. The judder in 30 fps games is annoying as all hell but I think I'll deal with it for the picture quality and pray that next gen they have the power to do 720p/60 or even 1080p/60. For the average person/family I would say LED but they certainly both have their issues.

So whats the current standings for the upcoming 2013 models? I wanna get my TV at costco for better warranty and ease of returning/exchange if I don't like the TV for whatever reason. I wanna upgrade my Sony KDF-50E2000 to something nicer and thinner while I have the money before I move outa state. I wanna do 60" if at all possible because, well, bigger is just always better. 90% of the usage is gonna be XBOX 360 and upcoming PS4 or XBOX 720. The rest will be Netflix streaming and Blu Ray.

Seems to be a fight between Sharp and Samsung LED LCD TV's atm, though Costco does have a few Panasonics but their all 50" or smaller. I've played on my Sony 50E2000 and whatever lag that hat, it has NEVER bothered or hindered my faction action game like Halo. I don't play that crap COD series. That being said, any input for buying a gaming TV for 2013? CNET sure doesn't seem to like ANY LCD TV's, they are all over the Plasmas and im not spending over $1600 on a TV is my budget.

Sadly to say, the first 2013 panny plasma (ST60) - lag went from a nearly perfect 16ms on the ST30/50 to 40-60ms. Not unplayable, and picture quality is better than ever, but it'd be a dealbreaker for me. For a TV that you say is 90% gaming, its high on the list of things to consider.

Get a sharp. Input lag doesn't seem like its going to be a big deal and their picture is very nice.

The ST60 looks pretty bad in the lag department but I haven't seen anything on the S60 yet. It may be better or the same.

The Sharp LED's all have terrible input lag. I suppose it depends on what type of games you play to decide if that would be a huge deal to you. The Samsungs fare pretty well in that department. It's not a popular answer around here, but I would also look at Vizio's LED's if you want to go that route.

Yeah....that's the frustrating thing. A brand, even a line within a brand can have a history of little input lag....and then a new model completely reverses that. I hereby rescind my blanket recommendation on panny plasmas. tongue.gif

Still though, it's impressive how every year, the new midrange panny outperforms last years high end model on image quality. You might be able to find an ST50 for a steal right now, I couldn't be happier with my ST30. The ST60 looks like a bust for gamers...but maybe another model might do better. The high end ones tend to have worse lag though, and the s60....what's missing there? 3D?
