Yeah, it's happened to me a couple times while playing safeguard.

Campaign, all the PVP multiplayer, all the different ways to play in squads AND extinction? Honestly, ghosts gives you a lot more for the money than some games (looking at you titanfall). All this DLC crap is there just to give you a way to extend the game if you want it. I fact, I remember years ago players were suggesting that cod offer downloadable weapons and camo packs for a nominal fee and now everyone is up in arms about it.
About the only thing I can complain about with the ghosts dlc is that the shipped maps are just not that great and from what I've heard the dlc maps are much, much better.

and im not, whats next?......3 decent perks @ $1.99 a piece.
Besides....the game/maps are not that good out of the box to even feel tempted to buy more of it.

Look, the publishers are in the business of squeezing every dime they can out of you. Best thing to do is make informed decisions and only buy what you think is worth the price. Activision is just trying to make up for the dlc song profit they lost when guitar hero and rock band **** the bed. Judging from the number of guns I see with the dlc camos it's obvious that they're getting someone with this stuff. Why worry about it?

i understand that, Activision has the rights to COD micro-transactions. Vince Zampella made that clear in an interview. But he learned and now owns the micro-transaction rights to Titanfall because theres tons of money involved.
I got 10days on Ghosts and I'm now limited to playing TDM 6vs6 on XB1 during school hours because no one is online, i basically see the same people online and a few have DLC camo's. That being said... Activision should be worried, not me
The DLC aint going to help them out of this hole, making the necessary changes will

What hole? Call of duty is the best selling FPS and an absolute Juggernaut each and every year they bring a new installment out! You could argue that they're doing their best to over saturate and kill this series with over exposure and gamer fatigue but it's hard to argue with the sales numbers. Is ghosts selling at a slower pace than some of it's predecessors? Sure-- but that doesn't change the fact that any publisher would give their left nut to have the mass of loyal customers cod has! It's still the game everyone else wants to be-- including titanfall-- for better or for worse...

Also, in my mind they shouldn't FIX anything! Ghosts fixed almost every issue I had with previous entries-- I love it-- and yet everyone HATES ghosts. It's 'boring' and 'slow'. Morale of the story is players actually like all the cheesy nonsense of mw3 and blosp2. Gotta give the people what they want!

So true. Most people still love it, it's just that the numbers shrink a little cuz after so many versions it's hard to make substantive/fresh changes. Selling at a slower pace still means a small fortune instead of a small-er one. The basic essence of "guys running around maps shooting each other w/ different guns" will never change. That might be a good thing...

They should reemphasize the single player campaign and get away from the modern warfare angle as it gets staler with every subsequent incarnation.

Online multiplayer was the big deal with this series when Call of Duty 2 appeared on the Xbox 360 and should always be an important facet of this series, but trying harder with the single player campaign (Which is initially what made this franchise such a hit back in 2000 or so) again just might be what this franchise needs to once again set it apart from the rest.

I'd suggest a setting like the 1960's Vietnam conflict and straddle the two eras they've focused on in the past. And with the horsepower of these new consoles, doing justice to jungles and the like should be achievable.

That ww1 rumor was debunked seconds after it was posted. The site it is from is a clickbait joke, Kotaku signed up and posted their own rumor, Fallout 4 being developed by zombies, and was making money off of it.

Yeah, it would be awesome. There's only one gun to choose from, an unreliable bolt action rifle. And you never get to shoot it, because the only game mode has you running around a trench dodging mustard gas. If you try to cross no mans land to engage the other team, you instantly die by land mine. You win the game when the other team quits from boredom. tongue.gif

It's almost def MW4, the guy in a screenshot bared a striking resemblance to one of the MW characters.

Sadly, I imagine that's far more likely than an historical era.

A lot of modern weapons made their appearance right around then. The Colt 45 that was the American sidearm for many decades afterwards, most of our machine guns through WWII (And our 50 caliber Browning that remains standard a century later), the Thompson I believe which was one of the world's first submachine guns and a common weapon for us through WWII, etc.

I didn't hear many complaints when it was WWII when people were playing with a bolt action German rifle. These are the FPS equivalent of the simcade for racers. Unrealistic physics with a realistic coat of paint. So I have little doubt they could do a good job at it.

Not interested in the old games(and the old guns that come w/ them) AT ALL. I prefer the modern stuff by a mile, stale or not.

Yeah....the old games are bound by the history. I'd like to see a new WWII game one day, but I'm interested to see what they come up with when they can create whatever.

Call of Duty: Blacksmith

"What happens when the people you pay to protect you, get a better offer?"

New game looks to focus on PMCs. They've got a slick teaser that looks like a documentary-- could cod be getting serious again? I loved cod4 for it's gritty realism and grounded story. Every game since has focused on Michael Bay levels of absurdity.
