Hey All,

I hooked my Nephews XBox 360 to my Home theater setup. Now I tried to use the HDMI and I did get a Picture just NO Audio..

I was wondering will my Marantz SR4001 Reciever be able to pass through the Audio to the reciever from the XBox??

I use a Acer PH530 DLP Projector with the Marantz SR4001 Reciever which does have 2 HDMI Inputs and 1 Output which goes to the Projector..

I am thinking I did something wrong in the menu setup??

The first suspect would be your receiver's input settings. You may have that HDMI port looking to optical/coax/analog inputs for its audio source. Switch the 360 over to a known working HDMI port on the receiver, like wherever your Bluray player is plugged in.

Well What I did was unplug the DVD Player HDMI Plug and input that to the XBox but I got NO sound??

I may have done something wrong in the input section of the receiver but I was just wondering if this reciever will Pass the Audio as well as the Video because the video part worked fine..

The thing is he is getting an intermintent sound loss when using the Optical cable.. WE are using the Old Component plug that also has an optical plug on it, I am thinking something is amiss with the Grey plug or optical connection???

I figured to use the HDMI One day but I got no sound. I will try and mess with it ltr on when he gets up to see if we can get the HDMI Working..

EDIT: I tried again and set the HDMI on the XBox and then put the reciever to no 2 HDMI Plug, I still was able to get the picture but NO Sound..

I don't think my Reciever passes the HDMI Audio??

OK I figured it out. I was looking through the Manual and in the Recievers Main Menu is Preferences and in there was a HDMI Setting which I had to ENABLE, it was ON Passthrough.. Case Solved and it looks and sounds great..

I am hoping this will solve his intermintent Audio Problems..it seems he was having issues with using the optical cable..

THNX Everybody..
