Hi all,

Buddy of mine and I are scheduling some gaming time this weekend. It's been a while since we've played co-op online, and we're looking for suggestions. Any latest & greatest that we should check out?

Thanks!

Gears has good coop. Halo 4 has a coop campaign and spartan ops.

Thanks for the tips. We're going to give Far Cry 3 a shot.

rdethloff, we loved Borderlands (1) coop, it was a lot of fun. We never completed it, but enjoyed what we did play.

Far Cry 3 co-op is okay at best. It's much MUCH shorter than Borderlands 2 though, if you're looking for something to complete in a weekend. The single-player campaign is great, however.

Would love to hear detailed feedback on the co-op!

The coop in far cry kind of sucked. It was short and had its own story line that was rather forgettable. All you do is go from point a to point b, blow up a few things, and repeat.

Spent a couple of hours playing FC3 co-op this weekend. Although it's fun overall, it does fall trap to what you said (at least so far). I'm hoping there is a bit more to the game than the very linear system it has going. I wasn't expecting Mercenaries co-op, but I was expecting at least a larger environment. In reviews I read that you could sit back, scope out a place, and then come up with strategies on how to attack. I've no idea how this is possible when it seems that every area is roughly 50 yards wide. On top of that, detection seems very random - sometimes I can sneak right up on someone, other times they see me 50 yards out through foilage.

It's still a fun game, and I like the co-op, but you're right about the story and the point a to be system. Although there are cut scenes that make it more robust, there really isn't any character development going on.

it seems that the co-op will be fairly lengthy, since we only completed the first mission in those two hours of game play. I'm hoping it'll fill out a bit as we get deeper into the co-op. I at least like the different asks when you hit places (repair something, defend something, etc.).

Overall, fun to play with a friend, but not stellar.
