For those XBOX users who have been having constant buffering issues with the Verizon Fios Tv app, I have some news on the problem. Here is the latest response from Verizon via Facebook:
Verizon FiOS 3:49pm May 16
Andrew,
Andrew,
You deserve an answer, but at the moment we do not have one that we can put out publicly or even just in a private message here. It is a known issue that is being addressed. When you involve giant companies like Verizon and Microsoft and have them build a platform that uses servers from television stations like TNT, FOX, ABC ect there is a lot of difficulty troubleshooting as we need access to all of the information and it is in no one spot. We appreciate your patience in this matter and please be assured that it is being looked into.
^Matt

I find it funny that Comcast version of this app does not have these issues. Sounds like the development team bit of more then they could chew and disregarded beta testing. If they had done that they would have picked up on the buffering which happens evenings/nights and weekends. I have been dealing with this issue for 5 months and I can deduct that it has been a issue for a lot longer. I called XBOX and they acknowledged the problem but said they have no position on the app even though it it a broken app.

Update: Buffering has been fixed. Now a new problem. On certain channels after 30 minutes or so you will get a message stating you are not subscribed to that channel and to go on line to add it. This being on channels that are in your package. Here we go again!

I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not but I do recall that with Comcast you actually had to sign into your Comcast account to get the Comcast TV stuff. Verizon you didn't need to sign in at all. It just detected you were on the Verizon network. I would imagine Verizons way seems to me to leave more opportunity for problems. Though honestly neither are all that great to begin with. lol

According to folks the Comcast app has not had these kind of problems. The buffering kept this app unusable for the past six months. What is worst is that they put this app in all of the new Samsung smart tv's. Many folks bought them just for the app to save on box fees. Verizon is boasting that this is the future of tv. Looks like the future is bleek at best!

Well the fix is short lived. Buffering is now back as annoying as ever. This company takes the cake!

Now I am getting you are not subscribed to this channel after watching a channel or from the start. I give up! Just ordered two HD boxes. Verizon laid a egg and continue to incubate it!

Just for kicks and giggles I checked the app again and still buffering. I finally got Verizon to admit that they have problems with this app. This years Samsung sets do not have the app anymore. The Samsung rep told me they had loads of complaints, Curious when they will pull the app completely and accept defeat.

I tried the FiOS TV app the other day. It worked the same as it always has here. There were zero buffering issues. And I noticed there were more channels available than when I tried it before. But I still don't see the point. Why do I want to go back to watching TV like I did in the 70's. Now if they would have had their VOD available, that would have made more sense to me. But to have no way to pause, rewind, FF, or record.. I just don't see the point with the FiOS app.

It doesn't happen at all here any more. I've been getting SuperHD even during Prime viewing hours.

I stopped having issues soon after Verizon announced an agreement with Netflix.

Although even when I had issues it wasnt a buffering problem. It just wouldn't ramp up to the higher resolutions.

I think I thought I was responding to a different thread.

AS far as the FiOS app. I have it on now in the background, but only for the last five minutes on CNN HD. It's 11:10PM here. I've seen zero issues so far.

I'm not going to be in here for an entire hour. But 15 minutes have gone by and CNN HD streaming from the FiOS app was rock solid.

It will usualy run for at least 30 minutes or even 45 before buffering. Once that starts it becomes unwatchable. I have 75/35 wired. All other apps on my XBOX 360 and PS3 work without any issues.

I'll need to try it again sometime then. When I will be on my PC for a longer time period.

PC? Did u mean XBOX? The app is not available on a PC. You can watch channels on Verizon's website. I am talking about the app on XBOX 360 and one and Samsung smart TV's and LG smart TV's.

I mean PC. I have an XBOne in the room that I have my main PC in. So the next time I'm on the PC for a long period I can turn on the XBOne and have the FIOS app running in the background to check it out.

Sorry about the confusion.
