Quake hold putty is amazing. Works great, I used it on the bottom of my appletv to keep it from sliding around my entrainment center due to a stiff and short one foot hdmi cable.

Holds strong and long, a little goes a long way too, and re-usable, Jesus, I sound like an infomercial

Daekwan,

Can't wait to hear first impressions... may help me decide whether to go try and score one tonight or not. What games did you pick up? Will you have anything that you will be able to compare against the 360 version? Thanks.

Uh - Oh! Just got home and fired up the 360 and I am unable to login to Xbox Live.

Hope this has nothing to do with anything else.

Daekwan - Let us know if/when you access xbox live on Xbone.

Hmm, that's weird. I just signed into Live on my 360 two minutes ago (basically to only open my Madden 25 weekly Ultimate Team pack from the Anniversary Edition, but still). The site is now down for me too though.

Kind of expect there to be some hiccups the first few days. I wouldn't let that be a cause of not buying the system. They'll work it out.

I have been a microsoft fan all my life...still don't think I will be buying a PS4.

But seriously...people ARE CRAZY when they can expect to spend $500 on a product knowing that it will NOT work.

It's even worse that people who already have a microsoft product (360) cannot use their system because of a new product launch.

I am certainly not going to go out at midnight to bring back home a brick which I can not even use!

Here's hoping Microsoft figures their stuff out quick!

I have a 7 day window @ BestBuy where they hold my preorder for pickup. If for some reason Microsoft does not figure it out within that window...then i'm out.

Exactly - Microsoft has Yelled,Screamed,Yelled some more, Changed their mind (posted emergency update), changed their mind again (Unposting emergency Update), and yelled some more that their system is USELESS without day one update.

So with that said, if Microsoft can not deliver a day one update for a product they tell their customers they can use on day one, but not without the update...then this is just about comical...and they will definitely LOSE customers.

One thing I will have to keep in mind that I almost forgot is...I already have the day one update file downloaded. Soooo I may just be able to use the system when no one else can...but I don't think I want to take that chance...but I have a 45 day return policy...so.....

No doubt there will be a lot of pissed off people if they can't even play a game when they bring the system home. I was never a fan of the strategy of having gaming disabled (or it is it everything disable until internet connection to MS servers?)completely until connecting online.

As I posted proof of above, I can get to XBL just fine. It could be that the data center you're accessing is down. What region are you located in? We know Daekwan is in the NE. If you trace route to www.xbox.com, what IP is returned? I'm going to 69.192.43.141.

If you tracert or ping www.xbox.com, what address is returned?

They use a round robin style DNS system on Azure and there are literally 30+ entry points into the cloud system. Once you get one of these addresses, it stays active for the duration of time-to-live, which in this case is 1 hour, IIRC. An hour from now you'll get a new address (or sometimes the same). Of course, unless you're running your own DNS server you are at the mercy of the upstream DNS server, which also caches those addresses, typically your ISP.
